Tälle helsinkiläiseen palveluiden saatavuuteen tottuneelle junanviemälle tuli yllätyksenä se, että kaikkialla ei saakaan taksia heti tilatessa. Taksipalvelussa oli silti jotain sellaista autenttista ja vanhan ajan työmoraalia, jota nykyajan ”ei kuulu mulle”-kulttuurissa ei enää ole tottunut näkemään. Äppitilauksen tai yleisen taksinumeron sijaan piti soitella läpi paikalliset taksiyrittäjät, joista viimeinen sai paikalle naiskuskin, joka oli juuri kerennyt istumaan kotisohvalleen ennen pelastusoperaatiotani. Yrittäjät suosittelivat toisiaan ja paikalle tulleelle kuskille vapaa-aikaa tärkeämpää oli saada ulkopaikkakuntalainen typerys äärimmäisen tiukalla aikataululla asemalle, vaikka ei siitä rahallisesti paljoa hyötynyt.
