In einem kürzlichen Interview wurde bekannt gegeben, dass Deutschland der Ukraine in den kommenden vier Jahren Raketen für das Patriot-Luftverteidigungssystem liefern wird. Legt man den Vertrag zugrunde, den Deutschland im April dieses Jahres geschlossen hat, so sollen PAC-2 GEM-T-Raketen von Lockheed Martin und Raytheon für 3,2 Milliarden US-Dollar beschafft werden. Angesichts der Produktionsgeschwindigkeit dieser Raketen wird der Auftrag jedoch erst in vier Jahren vollständig abgewickelt sein. Zudem hofft die Ukraine, von den USA eine Lizenz zur Herstellung von Patriot-Raketen zu erhalten – ähnlich derjenigen, die Deutschland bekommen hat.
