As a heroic pilot of Indian origin saved almost 200 passengers from FlyDubai. The FlyDubai pilot Smit Machchhar, of Indian origin, has been identified by the Israeli press as the hero of a flight bound for Tel Aviv carrying almost 200 passengers. According to reports, Machchhar resisted a sudden attack from his co-pilot from Oman, preventing him from crashing the plane in what could have been a "second September 11." After the plane was diverted to Tabuk, passengers spoke about the suffering they experienced, explaining that both Machchhar and the other pilot were injured after the incident. Both were taken to the hospital, and the assailant was arrested by Saudi Arabian police. According to his LinkedIn profile, Machchhar spent eleven years at SpiceJet, working as a senior commander and later as a line instructor captain. In June 2022, he moved to FlyDubai as a captain, having accumulated almost 10,000 flight hours. Although the exact details of the incident have not yet been disclosed by the authorities, passengers stated that they had intervened to subdue the assailant. Since September 11, 2001, the cockpits of airplanes have armored doors, preventing outsiders from entering. The Israelis on the Flydubai flight were only able to enter thanks to pilot Smit Machchhar, who, despite being seriously injured by the Omani co-pilot who stabbed him, managed to unlock the armored door before passing out. The Israelis then entered, captured the terrorist, and safely landed the plane. #SegurançaAérea #Heróis #Terrorismo (translated)

Concerning. The two pilots of a Fly Dubai Boeing 737 reportedly got involved in a brawl while flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv over Saudi Arabia. According to CNN, the plane lost 18,000 feet (6,000 meters) in just 2 minutes, which indicates a brutal descent rate. Initially, one of the pilots activated the hijacking code on the transponder, which triggered an immediate response from security forces, but then the code switched to general emergency. The plane made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, and the situation is now being assessed. Some of the passengers are citizens of Israel, a country that has no diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia. Unconfirmed reports suggest a suicide attempt by one of the pilots that was aborted by the direct intervention of some passengers. News is still developing. #Aviação #SegurançaAérea #Notícias (translated)
