❗️ Piękny był ten wczorajszy sukces reprezentacji Finlandii, ale jeszcze piękniejsza jest cała historia, która doprowadziła ten zespół do strefy medalowej mistrzostw Europy. Bo tutaj naprawdę nie mamy do czynienia z żadnym jednorazowym wystrzałem. Finowie swoją pozycję budowali konsekwentnie przez ostatnie lata. Najpierw Liga Europejska, później zeszłoroczne mistrzostwa świata, podczas których wysłali pierwszy poważny sygnał, że coś ciekawego zaczyna się tam dziać. Wczoraj natomiast pokazali na boisku właściwie wszystko to, nad czym pracowali od 2024 roku. Świetne pokolenie zdolnych zawodników, coraz bardziej świadoma drużyna i trener, który dojrzewa razem z tym zespołem, a sam powoli zaczyna zasługiwać na swoją szansę w naprawdę dużym europejskim klubie. Finlandia jest jedną z najpiękniejszych historii tych mistrzostw, ale dla mnie jest również modelowym przykładem zmian, o których piszę tutaj od kilku lat. Siatkarsko mniej rozwinięte państwa coraz lepiej wykorzystują możliwości, jakie stworzyły im Volleyball World oraz CEV. Dostają więcej meczów, więcej turniejów, więcej okazji do rywalizacji na najwyższym poziomie i – co najważniejsze – zaczynają z tego korzystać. Jednocześnie zajmują miejsca reprezentacji, które przez lata należały do szeroko rozumianej czołówki, ale dziś zwyczajnie znalazły się w regresie. Każdy sport potrzebuje swoich gigantów. Potrzebuje wielkich reprezentacji, wielkich nazwisk i wielkich rywalizacji. To nie podlega żadnej dyskusji. Ale nie oznacza to przecież, że siatkówka ma być sportem zarezerwowanym dla pięciu czy sześciu państw na świecie. Rozszerzenie seniorskich i juniorskich mistrzostw świata czy mistrzostw Europy sprawiło, że coraz więcej reprezentacji dostało przestrzeń do rozwoju. I dzisiaj coraz wyraźniej widzimy efekty tych zmian. Bo przecież w ostatnich latach naprawdę nie brakuje w siatkówce romantyzmu. Japonia i jej niesamowita wspinaczka na światowy szczyt w latach 2023–2024. Bułgaria i tytuł wicemistrza świata. Czechy z mistrzostwem Europy U-22 oraz czwartym miejscem na ostatnim mundialu. Dania podczas trwających mistrzostw Europy. Hiszpania z bardzo ciekawym pokoleniem, które powoli zaczyna wchodzić do seniorskiej siatkówki. Teraz do tego grona dopisujemy Finlandię. To jest właśnie ten wiatr zmian, o którym od pewnego czasu piszę.
