🚨🧩 IME, SESSAD, PCPE, platforms... more acronyms do not mean more answers. 🗺️ A file to distinguish between established data, report proposals, and the debate, with existing cooperation tools. 📒 Disability: does the multiplication of systems really advance the responses? ✍️ Open files of Health Practices - Daniel Oberlé - November 4, 2026 Audio Capsules of Health Practices 🎙️🎥 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dj71YORsiuw Analysis of Health Practices and link to the source ℹ️➕ https://www.pratiquesensante.com/blog/actualites-17/les-cahiers-ouverts-de-pratiques-en-sante-5998 📌 This open notebook allows to distinguish, in a single document, what belongs to established data, recommendations from public reports, and ongoing debates about the transformation of the medico-social offer for disability. It helps a field actor, an elected official, or a decision-maker not to confuse the multiplication of devices, real cooperation, and effective coverage of needs, while children are waiting for spots and pathways remain blocked. It also shows that cooperation tools already exist — integrated devices, CPOM, GCSMS, conventions, 360 communities — and offers concrete levers to map services, identify breaks, and involve people and families. Finally, it sheds light on the challenges of SERAFIN-PH and territorialization without presenting the reform as an automatic solution, which allows for more realistic, measurable, and adapted decisions to the realities of each territory. 🇬🇧: Disability: does the multiplication of systems really advance the responses? - https://www.pratiquesensante.com/en/blog/practices-15/le-handicap-la-multiplication-des-dispositifs-fait-elle-vraiment-avancer-les-reponses-6307 #️⃣ #pratiquesensante #disability #medicosocial #TransformationOfTheOffer #SERAFINPH #PathWithoutBreak #self-determination #CNCPH #pratiquesensante #handicap #médicosocial #TransformationDeLOffre #SERAFINPH #ParcoursSansRupture #autodétermination #CNCPH (translated)

This is incredibly sad. I once interviewed RJ Mitte on the Southbank and he was very friendly and joyful on a sunny day by the river. He leaves a legacy of disability representation on the screen; something that is far from easy to achieve and still too rare. www.theguardian.com/culture/2026...

The author described the introduction of a permanent Cost of Disability payment as a significant first and a breakthrough in supporting people who needed it most. They called it a solid starting point and said they would work to build on it in the years ahead.

The author said a government-commissioned report estimated the cost of disability at €10,000–€15,000 a year. They called the temporary €500 cost-of-disability payment “a sick joke” and said it would not reverse the €1,400 in cuts disabled people had faced the previous year. https://t.co/uvXSMmYDPg #DisabilityRights #SocialJustice #Equality #IE

The author said a government-commissioned report estimated the cost of disability at well over €10,000 a year, and called a €500 “cost of disability payment” a “sick joke”. They added that it would not make up for the €1,400 in cuts disabled people faced last year.

The author said the Budget was intended to support families and workers facing rising costs, with measures to increase workers’ take-home pay, help families and carers with childcare and disability costs, and ease fuel and energy bills for those most in need.

Compassion as a Weapon Western civilization is increasingly trapped in a culture of entitlement, where victimhood can become a route to status, privilege, and power. Some elite universities report unusually high disability registrations—e.g., 20%+ at Brown and Harvard and around 40% at Stanford—far above community colleges. Whatever the causes, it raises a troubling question: when systems meant to protect the truly vulnerable become incentives, what happens to everyone else? Rob Henderson describes how accommodations can turn into “status games.” Extra time, special housing, and exemptions can make diagnosis feel like the logical choice, and the lesson travels outward: tomorrow’s leaders in journalism, HR, law, academia, and politics may learn that displaying weakness is rewarded. Research links habitual victimhood displays with traits associated with the Dark Triad (narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy). That doesn’t mean genuine victims are manipulative—it means rewarding victimhood gives manipulators an incentive to enter. In the “virtue game,” grievance becomes currency. Pity can also function as covert power: the weak person gains leverage, while the giver gains moral superiority. When compassion is treated like a currency, it can become a mutually reinforcing racket. The danger isn’t helping the weak. It’s teaching that appearing weak is the surest way to gain power.
