Oliver Adámek described the results of STAN in Prague as a triumph and wrote that the party strengthened in almost all city districts. He attributed this to the work of Petr Hlaváček and his team, as well as to the outcomes of promoting major projects. He considered STAN, Prague itself, and the Pirates to be the programmatically most suitable coalition at the magistrate. According to him, the disrupted relationships between Hlaváček and Adam Scheinherr from the campaign hindered it, and part of the leadership of Prague's STAN preferred cooperation with ODS. Adámek also pointed out the differences between STAN and SPOLU in transportation and housing: Hlaváček advocated for urban housing construction, parking restrictions, prioritization of public transport, and tolls in the city center, while the leader of SPOLU criticized the Prague development company and rejected the idea of the city building apartments. He concluded that without concessions from one of the parties, major agreements might not succeed again. He also described a coalition of STAN and SPOLU, extended by Prague itself or the Pirates, as possible but unlikely. He stated that the larger parties would have to give up seats they did not need, leading to an even more disparate grouping. He deemed SPOLU's result as decent, but also noted that the coalition weakened in most city districts and could lose mayors. According to him, the Pirates were losing everywhere, while Prague itself attracted liberal voters; he cited city districts Prague 1, 8, 6, and 10 as examples. #Praha #obecnívolby #politika (translated)

SK Slavia Prague stated that the Sports Club Slavia Prague, the association, is a separate legal entity that has been long-term led by Jiří Vrba. According to the football club, under his leadership, the association got into a financial situation with liabilities exceeding 200 million crowns. Football Slavia stated that it is one of the 34 member sections of the association and in May helped resolve the critical financial situation by securing a loan of 130 million crowns. The club stated that it does not seek to purchase the land that it has leased. According to them, the lease agreement is secured until 2094, and it guarantees the conditions necessary for further development of the stadium and related infrastructure. It added that the crisis management board of the association listed the sale of the swimming stadium, hotel, or land to the hockey club as possible solutions to its financial situation, but not the sale of land to football Slavia. Slavia rejected the notion that the football club is responsible for the current situation of the association. It stated that Vrba ran in the municipal elections on Friday and needed to present his view of events to the public. At the same time, it wrote that it would welcome if the dispute went to court, where, in its view, it would be possible to assess the documents and the responsibility of the individuals. The club also recalled a letter that Vrba, as the then-chairman of the association's board, addressed to the Mayor of Prague on March 13, 2026. According to Slavia, it indicated that Vrba signed the relevant contract based on a promise of a grant. In the letter, according to the club, he pointed out that the association faced the threat of insolvency, loss of the allocated grant, and serious consequences for the further functioning of the club and its sports complex. Slavia stated that these words adequately described the current situation of the association, and it did not consider further comments necessary. #SlaviaPraha #fotbal #ekonomika (translated)

Due to health reasons, she closed her practice in 1939 and died on October 13, 1940. A commemorative plaque on the house at Na Moráni honors her, although it has an incorrect graduation date. By 1939, approximately twelve hundred women had graduated from medical school. Among scientific assistants from 1909 to 1939, women made up about fourteen percent, and by 1936, only two women had achieved the title of associate professor — both in the field of dermatology. Anna Honzáková was not among them. Today, the situation has turned completely upside down at first glance. While in Anna Honzáková’s time, women stood before closed doors, current medicine resembles an inverted funnel. Today, 65 to 66% of medical school graduates are women, and in regular practice, female doctors make up over 60% of all professionals. However, the higher you look into the management structures, the more women disappear. Among leading doctors and heads of departments, the proportion of women drops to 37%. Among the eight Czech medical faculties, there are eight deans — not a single one is a woman. A similar imbalance exists in academia: women make up only 15.7% of professors in Czech science, and in the management of universities or research institutions, women occupy only about 19% of positions. Anna Honzáková did not lead a university department, did not leave behind a named medical finding, nor did she manage a clinic. However, she had a practice whose waiting room was fuller than those of her colleagues, to whom the professorial body allowed an academic career. She paved the way for thousands of successors. The story of full recognition of female expertise and authority at the helm of healthcare continues even today. P.S.: Every day I bring a story about an overlooked female scientist.
