Luokatonta. Miten tutkija voi väittää George Sorosiin yhdistettyä ”miljoona turvapaikanhakijaa vuodessa” Orbánin propagandaksi, salaliittoteoriaksi ja antisemitismiksi? Soros 26.9.2015: ”The EU has to accept at least a million asylum-seekers annually for the foreseeable future.” Lauseen alkuperä on unkarilaistaustaisen miljardööri George Sorosin omasta kynästä, ei kenenkään propagandasta. Sorosin essee ''Rebuilding the Asylum System'' julkaistiin keskellä turvapaikkakriisiä tämän omilla sivuilla ja useissa medioissa. Yhä luettavissa. (Ks. https://t.co/CMpdfcvkpR) Esseessään Soros esitti kattavan suunnitelman EU:n turvapaikkajärjestelmän uudistamiseksi. Miljoonan vuotuisen tp-hakijan vastaanottaminen oli hänen kuusikohtaisen suunnitelmansa ensimmäinen askel. Lisäksi hän ehdotti laajempaa EU-taakanjakoa, uutta EU-rahaa tulijoita vastaanottaville maille, unionin tp- ja rajapolitiikan yhtenäistämistä, useiden miljardien eurojen lisätukea lähialueille, yksityisen rahan kanavoimista tulijoiden vastaanottoon ja niin edelleen. Radikaaleja ehdotuksia rikkaalta ja vaikutusvaltaiselta miljardööriltä. Silti eilisen Helsingin Sanomissa tutkija Kallius väittää, että miljoona turvapaikanhakijaa vuodessa ''viittaa Orbánin Fidesz-puolueen vuosina 2016-2018 järjestämään propagandakampanjaan, jonka elementit jokainen unkarilainen tunnistaisi vaikka unissaan.'' Käsittämätöntä. Tutkija Kallius ei lainkaan tuo esiin sitä tosiasiaa, että miljoona vuotuista turvapaikanhakijaa on Sorosin ehdotus. Hän ei tuo esille alkuperäislähdettä eikä sen kontekstia. Kallius kehystää ehdotuksen vain Orbánin ja Fideszin propagandan kautta. Valikoivan kerronnan vuoksi lukijalle jää helposti vaikutelma, ettei tällaista ehdotusta ole kukaan ehdottanutkaan, vaan kyse on autoritääristen johtajien propagandasta ja valehtelusta. Vaikutelmaa entisestään voimistaa, kun myöhemmin tekstissä tutkija Kallius ihmettelee: ''Miten Orbánin kymmenen vuotta vanha salaliittoteoria on pulpahtanut suomalaiseen suosittuun podcastiin?'' Mikä salaliittoteoria? Soros on itse julkisesti esittänyt ehdotuksensa ja ne ovat edelleen jokaisen luettavissa. On tutkijalta vastuutonta lyödä salaliittoteorialeimoja @23minuuttia -podcastin Heikelään ja Koskeloon näin löyhin perustein. On ilmiselvää, että Orbán ja Fidesz ovat hyödyntäneet omassa politiikassaan sitä, että vaikutusvaltainen unkarilaistaustainen miljardööri on keskellä Unkarille kipeitä kriisivuosia ehdotellut miljoonaa tulijaa, löysempää rajapolitiikkaa sekä lisää EU-miljardeja sinne ja tänne. Se ei kuitenkaan tee Sorosin omista julkisista kirjoituksista salaliittoteorioita eikä niihin viittaamisesta salaliittoteorioiden levittämistä. Tämä tulisi tutkijankin ymmärtää. Tutkija Kallius vielä erikseen viittaa tekstissä tehneensä väitöskirjansa Orbánin propagandasta. Hänen voisi olettaa sen kautta tuntevan myös Orbánin politiikassaan monesti hyödyntämät Sorosin alkuperäistekstit. Tällainen tuntemus ei mitenkään näy tekstissä, päinvastoin. Yhtä erikoista on, että tutkija Kallius syyttää tekstissään Heikelää ja Koskeloa kahdesti antisemitististen sisältöjen levittämisestä: ''Samalla odotin edes pientä kohua siitä, kuinka pääkaupunkiseudun seurapiireissä sujuvasti liikkuvat karismaattiset hahmot suoltavat antisemitististä sisältöä.'' Mitä antisemitististä sisältöä? Heikelä ja Koskelo eivät ruotineet podcast-jaksossaan Sorosin tai kenen muunkaan juutalaisuutta, vaan näiden rikkaiden ja vaikutusvaltaisten henkilöiden poliittisia kannanottoja ja tapoja toimia erilaisten poliittisten hankkeiden rahoittajina. Sen leimaaminen antisemitismiksi, syytöksiä lainkaan perustelematta, on tutkijalta jälleen hämmästyttävä valinta. Tuntuu kuin kirjoittaja olisi alkujaan yrittänyt kasata tekstin, joka ruotisi algoritmeja, polarisoitumista ja kuplautumista, mutta joka lopulta äityi yksipuoliseksi ''laitamedian'' eli yhteiskunnallisten podcastaajien päälle sylkemiseksi ja yhtäläisyysmerkkien vetämiseksi Orbánin Unkariin.
