Reform will happen. It is supported by the public, teachers, and employees in education. We have formed a professional council in which practitioners play a key role: no less than 11 members are current or former teachers and principals. Representatives from industry and future employers (Chamber of Commerce, Crafts and Small Business, Agricultural Chamber), local communities as founders of kindergartens and primary schools, and other professionals are also involved. We have not entrusted the education establishment, which bears responsibility for the current state, with leading the reform. The reaction is on the front page: personal defamation, inciting envy, and accusations of privatizing education. Photographs from my private life are supposed to replace arguments about the future of schools. But children need knowledge, teachers need authority and support, and education needs results.
