Dejando de lado lo deportivo, me da mucha impotencia toda la campaña de difamación y odio masivo que hubo hacia mi país. De Vlaamse subsidieziekte is naar een ongeneeselijk niveau gestegen. De Vlaamse regering geeft nu een subsidie van 1,8 miljoen euro aan Golazo voor … een paardenwedstrijd. De uitleg die ik erover kreeg van minister @AnnickDeRidder was hallucinant. "Dit maakt Vlaanderen een topregio. Dit doet Vlaanderen schitteren. Dit geeft een belangrijke economische boost. Wie hiertegen is, mag zijn hand opsteken." Ministers zitten gevangen in de onzin die hen door lobbygroepen en administratie wordt voorgeschreven. De Vlaamse schuld is de afgelopen tien jaar met 170% (!) gestegen. Het Vlaams begrotingstekort is dit jaar 3,6 miljard euro. De totale subsidies zijn met 1 miljard euro toegenomen het afgelopen jaar, naar 20 miljard euro. En dan zien we paardenwedstrijden dus als een kerntaak. Net als het uitbaten van paardenmaneges trouwens. Ooit was de ambitie van Vlaanderen om op vlak van begroting, economische groei en onderwijs toonaangevend te zijn. Nu is de ambitie een "topregio" te zijn door miljoenen voor paardenwedstrijden. Oh ja, en Ben Weyts mocht in de regimepers gisteren verklaren dat hij de subsidies nog maar eens een keer grondig ging aanpakken. Wie gelooft dit nog? We zijn op vlak van uitgavendrift op een bizar PS-niveau gekomen. Niet het Vlaanderen dat beloofd werd. Niet mijn Vlaanderen. Niet het Vlaanderen van de Vlamingen.
