Le Belgo-Marocain de 39 ans, incarcéré depuis novembre 2015, avait pourtant été condamné à 30 ans de prison avec une période de sûreté des deux tiers. Il n’aurait théoriquement dû être libérable qu’à partir de 2035. Transféré en Belgique en 2023, il est désormais soumis au droit belge, où la période de sûreté prononcée en France ne s’applique pas à son cas. Il a déjà obtenu des permissions de sortie ainsi que six congés pénitentiaires de 36 heures. Une audience est prévue le 29 septembre pour examiner sa demande de libération sous surveillance électronique ou conditionnelle. Cette éventualité provoque la stupéfaction de plusieurs victimes du 13 Novembre. « C’est assez fou. On parle quand même de l’une des figures les plus effrayantes du box. On avait toutes les raisons de penser qu’il méritait chacune des années de la peine qui lui a été infligée », réagit Arthur Dénouveaux, rescapé du Bataclan. Ich muss meine Filmkritik zu „Citizen Vigilante“ von heute Morgen noch einmal korrigieren: Ich habe jetzt zig Kommentare gelesen, in denen Linke die Zensur rechtfertigen, indem sie die von dem Hauptcharakter grundlos ermordeten Personen aufzählen. (Selbstverständlich wird Selbstjustiz hier nicht verherrlicht, vor ihr wird durch das Versagen der Judikative sogar gewarnt.) Genau das haben sie nach islamistischen Terroranschlägen auf Weihnachtsmärkte, Bataclan und die unzähligen anderen Veranstaltungen allerdings nicht ein einziges Mal getan; die Opfer schienen für sie gar nicht zu existieren.
