Verschwörungen funktionieren, indem man objektive Belege nicht anerkennt, weil sie aus "offiziellen Quellen" kommen, die damit Teil der Manipulation sind. Stattdessen werden Fantasien gesponnen, die bei erkannten Widersprüchen einfach geändert werden. Wenn aber eine Seite alles belegen muss und die andere nach Belieben Theorien ändern und Fantasien als Beweise präsentieren kann, dann hat man in dem Moment verloren, wo man sich an den Tisch setzt. Eine Diskussion verlangt gemeinsam anerkannte Regeln und die Seite, die außergewöhnliche Vorwürfe nicht mit außergewöhnlich guten Beweisen untermauert, sondern die Beweislast umkehrt, ermöglicht daher keine Diskussion auf Augenhöhe. Ich habe geboxt. In den Ring mit einem MMA-Kämpfer würde ich dennoch niemals gehen, weil ich in einem Boxkampf nicht mit Knien und Ellbogen bearbeitet werden will. Nur etwa 20% der Bevölkerung steht hinter dem Staatschef in Russland. Der größte Teil der Bevölkerung verlangt deutliche Reformen und eine Änderung des Regierungskurses. Den gibt es aber nicht. Stattdessen werden immer wieder Versprechen ganz dreist gebrochen, natürlich völlig ohne Konsequenzen. In diesem Staat ist die Regierung der Bevölkerung keinerlei Rechenschaft schuldig. Sie kann lügen, täuschen und einfach den Kurs wechseln – der Wähler hat nichts zu melden. Die Opposition wird schikaniert. Wer sich offen zur Opposition bekennt, verliert seinen Job in der Verwaltung. Konten können gekündigt werden. Angriffe auf Büros oder Kandidaten werden als Fake dargestellt, vertuscht oder heruntergespielt. Kandidaten werden regelmäßig nicht zur Wahl zugelassen. Wenn das Wahlergebnis nicht gefällt oder die „Falschen“ für einen Kandidaten gestimmt haben, kann die Wahl auch einfach rückgängig gemacht werden, dazu wird der gewählte Ministerpräsident zum sofortigen Rücktritt gedrängt. Die Opposition wird nicht direkt verboten, das wäre zu offensichtlich totalitär, aber es wird ständig mit einem Verbot gedroht, um die Kandidaten und Wähler einzuschüchtern. Im Staatsfernsehen erfährt der Bürger, welche Politiker er unterstützen soll und welche nicht. Die Staatsoberhäupter erklären regelmäßig in Ansprachen, welche Gefahr die Opposition für das Land wäre. Tatsächlich war sie noch nie an der Macht, auch nicht in einem regionalen Parlament und hat auch keine realistische Chance, ins Amt gewählt zu werden. Selbst wenn sie in einem Bezirk die absolute Mehrheit stellen würde, dürften die anderen gewählten Politiker natürlich auf keinen Fall mit ihr zusammenarbeiten. Es steht eine eiserne Mauer zwischen den „guten Politikern“ und der unrechtmäßigen Opposition. In den Schulen werden die Kinder schon zum „richtigen Wählen“ angeleitet und erfahren, dass die Oppositionellen böse Nazis sind, die der linken Bewegung gefährlich im Wege stehen. Sie lernen auch, dass die Zwanzigjahres-Pläne zur Transformation der Industrie und der Kommunen sehr wichtig sind. Eine Abkehr würde die Lebensgrundlage der nachfolgenden Generationen zerstören. So werden schon die Kleinsten indoktriniert. Aber auch an den Universitäten herrschen die linken, regierungstreuen Professoren und Angestellten und weisen Abweichler zurecht. Bürger werden dazu angehalten, Personen in ihrem Umfeld oder ihrer Familie, die eine erkennbare falsche Meinung äußern, an ein Portal zu melden. Dazu gibt es staatliche, halbstaatliche, kommunale und angeblich private Meldeportale. Wer gemeldet wird, dem kann schon in den nachfolgenden Tagen eine unangemeldete Hausdurchsuchung drohen. A healthy society ideally combines a strong leader, a competent elite, and a virtuous citizenry—because, as Thomas Sowell said, “there are no solutions, only tradeoffs.” Democracy promises three virtues it can’t guarantee: freedom, wisdom, and consent. **Freedom:** Nozick’s thought experiment shows how slavery can be disguised by changing vocabulary—when power gradually shifts from overt domination to rules voted on by others, at what point is it “freedom”? A society can talk endlessly about freedom while restricting rights through taxes, regulations, and suspensions. **Wisdom:** Socrates doubted democracy produces wisdom. If a voyage were dangerous, you wouldn’t let every passenger vote equally on navigation. Yet political voting gives equal weight regardless of knowledge, inviting manipulation by those skilled in fear, emotion, and flattery. **Consent:** “Government of the people, by the people, for the people” can be an illusion. If the state is treated as “us,” coercion can be reframed as self-government. But representatives don’t truly follow your instructions the way a genuine agent must. He called the resulting system pathocracy, and the transformation of normal institutions into ones serving pathological interests ponerization. The danger begins when institutions lose the ability to distinguish competence from manipulation. Those willing to conform can rise precisely because others will not. Ideologues create doctrines, propagandists spread them, and ruthless operators capture institutions. The lesson: totalitarianism does not require one tyrant. Officials who honestly reported collapsing harvests were purged, while those telling Mao what he wanted to hear advanced. False information helped sustain the Great Leap Forward, whose famine killed tens of millions. China abolished university entrance exams in 1966; they were not restored until 1977. A system that selects against competence eventually loses the ability to see reality. Mediocrity protects power; moral compromise enforces it. Capture education, and you shape a generation unable to challenge the system.

Authoritarianism, spiraling debt, and economic devastation were the crippling costs of this deception.” He describes the political consequences just as bluntly: “By the time we got to 2016, Democrats had become completely unhinged. They made everything political, hunted heretics, and weaponized the government—three core characteristics of totalitarianism.” The fallout has been severe. Institutions lie in ruins, public trust has collapsed, and communities remain deeply divided. This was not simply a political miscalculation. It was ideological warfare, designed to divide and control. As the fog begins to lift, one question remains: Have we learned enough to resist the next wave of fearmongering and manipulation—or will we once again accept the same tactics from new faces?
