Der Fall Sven Hüber zeigt, dass die Normalisierung der DDR abgeschlossen ist. 65 Jahre Mauerbau ist nur noch eine Randnotiz. Die Täter kriegen mehr Rente als die Opfer, die Verbrecher an der Mauer sitzen in höheren Positionen als die Helden - sie schämen sich nicht für ihre Taten. Sie treiben ihre gelernte Methodik und die Ideologie des Regimes in die heutigen Debatten. Keine politische Kraft wehrt sich mehr dagegen, alle haben ihren falschen Frieden gemacht. Die Namen der Erschossenen, der Bürgerrechtler, der politischen Gefangenen sind längst vergessen. Der schlimmste Fehler in der Aufarbeitung der DDR ist es, dass längst nicht mehr zwischen Tätern und Opfern unterschieden wird. Millionen Ostdeutsche, die das Regime ablehnten und unter ihm litten werden mit ihren Peinigern zu „den Ossis“ zusammengerührt, deren vermeintliche Identität dann dazu instrumentalisiert wird, die Karrieren von Tätern wie Sven Hüber zu fördern.
