Wow. 😮 Großbritannien geht bei der Unterstützung der Ukraine gerade einen ziemlich bemerkenswerten Schritt weiter. Nicht einfach: Wir liefern euch noch ein paar Marschflugkörper. Sondern: Wir helfen euch, sie selbst zu bauen. Die britische Regierung hat MBDA grünes Licht gegeben, der Ukraine klassifizierte technische Informationen über britische Komponenten des französischen SCALP-Marschflugkörpers zu überlassen. SCALP ist die französische Schwester des britischen Storm Shadow; beide beruhen auf gemeinsamer britisch-französischer Technologie. Der Hintergrund: Frankreich und die Ukraine haben bereits vereinbart, Produktionslinien für SCALP in der Ukraine aufzubauen. Großbritannien gibt nun die dafür nötigen eigenen Technologieanteile frei. Das ist strategisch etwas völlig anderes als die nächste Waffenlieferung. Westliche Lagerbestände können leer laufen. Lieferungen können politisch gestoppt werden. Eine eigene ukrainische Produktion schafft eine dauerhafte Fähigkeit. Nebenbei arbeitet Großbritannien mit „Project Brakestop“ auch noch an neuen, günstigeren Langstreckenwaffen für die Ukraine – ausdrücklich ohne US-Komponenten, um bei der Lieferkette nicht von Washington abhängig zu sein. So nämlich! Europa scheint langsam verstanden zu haben, worum es geht. Es reich nicht mehr, nur Waffen zu schicken. Wir müssen der Ukraine die Fähigkeit geben, sie selbst herzustellen. Denn, wie Burnham es ausdrückt: „Die Sicherheit der Ukraine ist unsere Sicherheit.“ Das Amüsante: Russland hat seinen Botschafter Andrej Kelin aus London abgezogen und bis heute keinen Nachfolger benannt – offenbar auch als Signal an die Briten, ihre Unterstützung für die Ukraine zu überdenken. Zuletzt war Moskau zudem ausgesprochen verstimmt darüber, dass die Ukraine britische Drohnen für Angriffe tief in Russland eingesetzt hat. London pfeift also auf den Wink mit dem Zaunpfahl aus Moskau und gibt der Ukraine obendrein klassifizierte Raketentechnologie. Kann man machen. 😎 Wären wir nur halb so mutig wie die Briten, wäre das Russische Haus in Berlin übrigens längst geschlossen.
