Może robił to z nudów, może pomagało mu to się skupić, a może był to po prostu jego mały zwyczaj. Zrobiłem wtedy te zdjęcia, bo wydało mi się to niezwykle sympatyczne i zwyczajnie ludzkie. Dziś patrzę na nie zupełnie inaczej. Został na nich drobny, niemal niezauważalny fragment człowieka, którego przez lata oglądaliśmy w telewizji i którego obecność wydawała się czymś stałym.
