O Brasil está dando mais um passo para fortalecer sua economia digital. Sancionei hoje o Redata, um regime especial que cria incentivos para a instalação e ampliação de datacenters no país e pode contribuir para atrair investimentos e ampliar nossa capacidade em áreas como inteligência artificial, computação em nuvem e outras tecnologias digitais. Atualmente, a maioria dos dados e serviços digitais usados no Brasil é processada fora do país. Com o Redata, queremos ampliar essa capacidade aqui dentro, sob as nossas leis e com mais soberania sobre os nossos dados. E quem receber incentivo público vai ter que dar retorno ao país: investir no Brasil o equivalente a 2% do valor dos equipamentos beneficiados em pesquisa, desenvolvimento e inovação, reservar pelo menos 10% da capacidade de processamento, armazenagem e tratamento de dados para o mercado nacional e cumprir regras de alta eficiência no uso da água e de energia limpa e de baixa emissão. O programa também cria condições mais favoráveis para investimentos no Norte, Nordeste e Centro-Oeste, contribuindo para ampliar a presença da infraestrutura digital em diferentes regiões do Brasil.
