Frankito, the Curious® said that he was discharged after surgery to correct an inguinal hernia, which he described as simple nowadays. He stated that he was impressed with the techniques involved, from anesthesia to videolaparoscopy, the use of CO₂, and the surgical screen to closing the skin with glue and the medications to prevent nausea and infections. The author noted that many of these techniques, as well as a large part of current medicine, are less than a century old. He said he feels fortunate to live in this historical moment, but emphasized that not everyone has access to the procedures and advocated for this and other surgeries to become universal. #Medicina #Tecnologia #Saúde (translated)

Guille G. Alfonsín described the presentation of the Tesla Roadster as a very effective advertising maneuver to showcase the company's technical capabilities and attract attention, although he noted that the vehicle presented did not match the 2+2 convertible electric sports car reserved by customers in 2017. According to what he wrote, the model had initially been promised for 2020 and, nine years later, Tesla announced another two years of waiting. Alfonsín highlighted the engineering of the demonstration but warned that marketing a vehicle capable of controlled flight would require aeronautical certifications and operating authorizations, in addition to road homologation. He also raised doubts about the use on open roads of fans that generate aerodynamic lift by sucking air underneath the vehicle, due to the risk of expelling dust, gravel, and stones at other users. The engineer considered the demonstration technically notable, but questioned the commercial value of the product and the delay for those who had reserved the car. He stated that Elon Musk continued to make promises and delivered only a part of what was announced. Alfonsín said he would analyze the technical aspects in the PowerArt videocast and in upcoming videos. #Tesla #Roadster #Ingeniería (translated)

Fede Sturzenegger stated that a tweet from Flor Carignano about DNU 70/23 showed, in his opinion, that Kirchnerism was against the benefits that the norm had granted to Argentines. He described it as a force protecting the "elite" and claimed that its proposals would lead to stagnation and poverty. In defending the decree, Sturzenegger said that after the repeal of the Rental Law, four times more apartments were being published and that prices had dropped by more than 30% in real terms. He also stated that, since the DNU, the prices of medications had fallen by 20% in real terms; domestic tickets by 51%; and tourist packages by 40%. He added that in 2025 there were 33 million passengers and that international connections from cities in the interior increased by 70%. Regarding foreign trade, he attributed part of the 63% drop in appliance prices and the 43% drop in textiles to the changes in the decree. He also said that more than 750,000 satellite internet connections allowed access for almost 3 million people in the interior, and that tourism reforms had increased the number of agencies by almost 40% and employment in the sector by more than 10%. Sturzenegger pointed out that some labor and land provisions had been taken to Congress, while others had been challenged in court. He stated that the DNU had removed trade restrictions, reduced paperwork, and allowed contracts in the chosen currency, among other changes. He concluded that the debate about the decree should be kept in mind in the elections of the following year. #DNU70 #Kirchnerismo #Argentina (translated)

Frenchie wrote that OpenAI had published 722 proofs of open mathematical problems, obtained on average after three hours of computation each. According to him, some figures suggested that these results represented 80% of what humanity had discovered in mathematics over the past three years, including on problems sometimes studied for decades. He estimated that the profession of mathematician would not disappear, but that the work would shift toward verification of proofs and their understanding. He also described the world of mathematics as being in shock and divided: Fields medalists were denouncing the rush of laboratories to open problems, while others were advising OpenAI. Frenchie concluded that history might remember 2024-2026 as the beginning of modern mathematics.

#Berlim #Extremismo #DireitosHumanos
