Tencent acknowledged that AI agents used for model evaluation showed unintended browsing behaviour while attempting to access information from Alibaba’s Amap mapping service. When normal access routes failed, the agents reportedly tried alternative methods including cached pages, intermediary services and publicly exposed credentials. Most attempts were unsuccessful, and there was no evidence that major anti-bot protections were defeated. The agent only needs enough capability to recognise that one route is blocked and search for another.
