💙💛 Regina Laska 6h

Regina Laska criticized that Donald Trump once again accused Volodymyr Zelensky of not wanting to end the war. According to Laska, Trump overlooked that Vladimir Putin has been bombing Ukraine for four and a half years. Instead, Trump is concerned about Russian refineries, US diesel prices, and Putin's feelings, she wrote. Citing the Wall Street Journal, Laska reported that Putin proposed a meeting between Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, possibly in November in Shenzhen. The meeting would be about the future of Ukraine, which, like Europe, would not be invited. The Kremlin has confirmed that the proposal is being discussed; Trump has not yet agreed. However, a senior US government representative believes he is open to it, according to Laska. A source from the Wall Street Journal described Putin's proposal as a "second Yalta." Laska compared the proposal to the 1945 conference, where Stalin, Roosevelt, and Churchill negotiated Europe's post-war order while the affected countries were not at the table. Putin's plan envisions a negotiation between the aggressor and the great powers regarding the fate of the victim – without European involvement. She urged Europe to discuss possible political and economic leverage. China is reliant on the European market, Ukraine is fighting with weapons that are largely financed by Europe, and the majority of frozen Russian central bank assets are held in Europe, she wrote. Laska argued that Europe must thwart the plan before it turns into a summit and warned that those who are not given a seat at such negotiations could end up being the subject of the agreements. #Trump #Putin #Ukraine (translated)

Ben Krischke 5d

Ben Krischke criticized Bärbel Bas and wrote that her statements at the Employers' Day 2025 triggered spontaneous laughter. Within the black-red coalition, she blocked and delayed reforms and once accused Chancellor Friedrich Merz of talking "bullshit." He wrote that Bas was not a miscast, but a miscast. Krischke described the SPD's approach as contradictory: the party accused the Union at Bebelplatz, with Boris Pistorius and Matthias Miersch, of paving the way for fascism, but a week later complained about a rough tone in the political center. At the same time, he accused media outlets like Der Spiegel and Handelsblatt of supporting the SPD campaign and portraying the CDU as heartless. Bas, as Federal Minister of Labor, had a large administrative apparatus at her disposal, Krischke wrote. He criticized that the SPD prioritizes a minister's feelings over the welfare of the population and wants to make the Union appear inhuman. According to him, the dismantling of a party involves both those who carry it out and those who allow it. https://t.co/9w5vhZcV4t #Politik #Bundesregierung #SPD (translated)

Manuel Ostermann wrote that he had received death threats and had been confronted with defamatory articles, insinuations, and personal attacks. This does not leave him unaffected, he explained; public figures also have feelings and a personal environment. Ostermann warned that intimidation must not become a political or social means, as threats could otherwise impair freedom of expression and thus freedom itself. Messages and conversations from supporters, according to him, encouraged him to continue. He wrote that he would continue to advocate for his beliefs and not compromise his values. #Freiheit #Zivilcourage #Meinungsfreiheit (translated)

"Yesterday was my last game, and I already miss wearing the blue and white jersey. I know that I made the right decision. It has been an incredible journey, full of joys, but also some sad moments, but for me it is clear that every step was worth it. And there is still so much I want to say. It is impossible for me to express all my feelings in a few words or in a post." Messi, who announced his retirement a few weeks ago and played 208 times for Argentina during his career, after his last match: "I can only express my gratitude. "Translated from the Future" - Capsule event with Xia Jia, Milena Adam, and Wolfgang Tress moderated by Felix Meyer zu Venne October 14, 2026 | 8:00–9:00 PM | Otherland (Bergmannstraße 25, 10961 Berlin) Let us imagine we could bridge decades in cryosleep until incurable diseases are defeated. But what does it feel like to awaken in a world where our friends and relatives are no longer there? And what does a world look like where a pandemic has resulted in only children living there? On the third evening of "Translated from the Future," the question arises of how to translate feelings that one does not (yet) know. Time: 8 PM Location: Otherland Bookstore, Bergmannstraße 25 10961 Berlin Admission: Free - please register by emailing [email protected] Language: English Xia Jia writes science fiction, engages academically with the genre, and translates. She teaches Chinese literature at Jiaotong University in Xi’an as a professor. Her style is described as "Porridge Science Fiction" because her stories are sprinkled with numerous elements atypical of the genre, such as references to myths. Her short stories "In the Clouds," "Night Walk of the Dragon Horse," and "Tongtong’s Summer" have been published in capsule publications. Milena Adam is a translator and interpreter from French and English. For Matthes & Seitz Berlin, she has translated works by Sandra Newman, Eileen Myles, Ken Kesey, Alain Damasio, and Cal Flyn, among others. She lives in Berlin. Lucie Rico and Milena Adam were shortlisted for the PRIX Premiere #5 (2024/25). Felix Meyer zu Venne is a sinologist, translator, and Chinese teacher. Since 2018, he has been part of the editorial team of the science fiction magazine "Kapsel"; since 2021, he has been a co-editor of the magazine. He has translated works by Jia Pingwa, Xia Jia, Jiang Bo, Baoshu, Regina Kanyu Wang, and Chi Hui into German. Wolfgang Tress is a co-owner of the Otherland Bookstore in Berlin, which has specialized in science fiction, fantasy, horror, and role-playing games in German and English for over 25 years. His favorite quote is from Ursula K. Le Guin's essay "The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction": "The stories we tell ourselves create the reality in which we live." (translated)
