Sabrina F. had labeled what happened in Rotterdam a "worldwide shame," harshly criticizing the West. She had claimed that the Netherlands had denied visas to three Russian gymnasts: Angelina Melnikova, the reigning world champion, Viktoria Listunova, Olympic gold medalist in Tokyo, and Anna Kalmykova, European silver medalist. According to Sabrina F., the three athletes were among the strongest and could have won the World Championships, which she had described as the first qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. She had reported that the official reason for the denial concerned an alleged threat to the international relations of one or more Schengen countries. She also stated that other Russian gymnasts had been admitted to the Netherlands: four were already there, and another five had obtained their visas the day before. For Sabrina F., this indicated a targeted exclusion of the three athletes, who she believed could defeat the United States and the Netherlands. She added that World Gymnastics had re-admitted the Russians and that the rules allowed them to compete. She had finally described the incident as a political decision and an example of "double standards." #Sport #Ginnastica #Politica (translated)
