Allein 2022 flossen Kühne laut Surplus 4,4 Milliarden Euro Dividenden zu, bei einer geschätzten Steuerbelastung von unter 9 Prozent. Hapag-Lloyd selbst zahlte im Rekordjahr effektiv rund 1 % Steuern. Sein Vermögen geht nun an seine Stiftung, ohne klassische Erbschaftsteuer. Und auch die Herkunft dieses Reichtums gehört dazu: Kühne + Nagel war während der NS-Zeit an der sogenannten „M-Aktion“ beteiligt, bei der Eigentum deportierter und ermordeter Jüdinnen und Juden aus rund 70.000 Wohnungen abtransportiert und verwertet wurde. Eine umfassende unabhängige Aufarbeitung gibt es bis heute nicht. Milliarden erben, Milliarden Dividenden kassieren, kaum besteuert werden, Vermögen steuerbegünstigt weitergeben – und normalen Leuten erzählen, für Rente, Pflege und Sozialstaat sei kein Geld da.
