Tampereella poliitikot myöntävät merkittäviä rahallisia avustuksia kulttuuritoimijoille. Tänä vuonna taidelaitoksille, kuten teattereille, jaettiin yleis- ja vuokra-avustuksia 16,2 miljoonaa euroa. Ei ole yllätys, että veronmaksajien tukea paljon nettoavat toimijat koittavat eri tavoin vaikuttaa päättäjiin. Tampereen talous on kuralla ja säästöjä etsitään tiheällä kammalla. Jokainen edunsaaja tietää, että heidän tukisummansa on vaarassa supistua. Kun kyseessä eivät ole yksittäiset kutsut toimintaan tutustumiseen, vaan usein toistuva ja joidenkin toimijoiden osalta jopa säännöllinen käytäntö, päätöksenteon avoimuus edellyttää minusta yleistä tietoa lippujen lahjoittamisesta poliitikoille. Olisi epäreilua, jos miljoonia saavat teatterit ja muut kulttuuritoimijat jäisivät säästöjen ulkopuolelle samalla, kun on säästetty esimerkiksi lasten koulumatkoista. Jotenkin ironista, että jos tapahtuu rasistinen pahoinpitely, asian juurisyy on välittömästi selvillä eli äärioikeistolaiset ajatukset, nuorten toiminta, Suomen lippu hihassa, ja täytyy keskustella kotona vanhempien kanssa. Kaikissa muissa ilmiöissä vastaus on joko "nothing to see here", tai sitten "ikävä ilmiö", syytä tutkitaan, mutta ei ole ihan varma johtuuko äidin ikävöinnistä vai apeista verhoista? Mielenterveysongelmat, osattomuus, ja usko tulevaisuuteen voi olla myös taustalla. Mielestäni on täysin looginen selitys, että 15v poika, joka on kahlannut 9 vuotta koulua meluisassa S2 koulussa, on myöskin menettänyt uskonsa tulevaisuuteen.
