Damit ist er nur drei Meter niedriger als der Berliner Fernsehturm. Durch die Höhe verspricht man sich bis zu 40 Prozent mehr Ertrag gegenüber der konventionellen Höhe. Finanziert wird dieses Ungetüm, durch unsere Steuergelder, da es ein öffentlich finanziertes Forschungs- und Demonstrationsprojekt ist. Die Kosten sollen für dieses eine Windrad circa 30 Millionen Euro betragen. Diese riesen Windräder sollen in Zukunft in bestehende Windparks integriert werden. Man verspricht sich durch die enorme Höhe eine höhere Leistung. Ob diese Windräder sich überhaupt rechnen, ist nicht bekannt. Es wird sich erst herausstellen, wenn mehrere gebaut wurden, da die Instandhaltung durch das Stahlgerüst und die Größe wesentlich aufwendiger und teurer ist, als bei den normalgroßen Windrädern! Es soll aber etwa den Strom für 7000 Haushalte liefern. Fakt ist, diese gigantischen Windräder sind noch teurer in der Wartung, greifen erheblich in den Luftraum und den lokalen Wald ein, haben ein höheres Kollisionsrisiko, einen höheren und längeren Nachlauf und verschandeln die Landschaft! Ausserden sind Windräder sowieso ein Eingriff in grundlegende Naturkreisläufe, wie Klima, Wasserhaushalt und Ökosystemtyp. In diesen Riesen werden 2000 Tonnen Stahl verbaut.
