In Namibië is de gezonde levensverwachting voor vrouwen 54,6 jaar en voor mannen 51 jaar. Dat levert vrijwel volledige gendergelijkheid op. Een derde van de vrouwen tussen 15 en 49 heeft sinds haar vijftiende fysiek geweld meegemaakt en 15 procent seksueel geweld. Dat geweld telt niet mee. Ook politiek krijg je vreemde uitkomsten. Namibië heeft een vrouwelijke president en dat telt mee. Nederland heeft nooit een vrouwelijke premier gehad en dat telt ook mee. Drie van de vier grootste Nederlandse steden worden ondertussen door vrouwen bestuurd. Dat telt niet mee. De index kijkt niet naar lokaal bestuur.
