Heimatgefühl wrote that Bärbel Bas (SPD) had resigned from all offices for personal reasons after her stepdaughter had passed away. He could understand her resignation and wished her a lot of strength. However, Bas retained her Bundestag mandate and criticized the CDU in her resignation statement, he wrote. At the same time, Heimatgefühl reminded that Bas had referred to Germans as "uniformly brown." The author disagreed with the assessment that some SPD members are now expressing, that hardly anyone stands for values as much as Bas does. In his personal opinion, she should have resigned earlier and also given up her Bundestag mandate. #BärbelBas #SPD #Bundestag (translated)

Bärbel Bas initially expressed her condolences for the death of her stepdaughter, which Bas had mentioned among other reasons for her resignation as SPD chairwoman and Federal Minister of Labor. At the same time, the author suspected that Bas had left a sinking ship in light of difficult political times. In his opinion, she had always been able to withstand headwinds from the coalition or parts of society and reacted sharply to them. Since her stepdaughter had already passed away at the end of September, the timing of her resignation had a certain aftertaste for him.

#CDU #Politik #Demokratie
