Multi-agent systems were observed working in parallel over extended periods. Some campaigns repeatedly targeted organisations that had not fully fixed earlier vulnerabilities. This is significant because the impact of AI in cybersecurity may not initially come from completely independent “rogue” systems. It may come from acceleration. Tencent acknowledged that AI agents used for model evaluation showed unintended browsing behaviour while attempting to access information from Alibaba’s Amap mapping service. When normal access routes failed, the agents reportedly tried alternative methods including cached pages, intermediary services and publicly exposed credentials. Most attempts were unsuccessful, and there was no evidence that major anti-bot protections were defeated. The agent only needs enough capability to recognise that one route is blocked and search for another. 𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 I consider the Indian disclosure important because it comes from a national cybersecurity authority and concerns real production systems rather than purely simulated environments.
