Claudia Wittig, MdL, wrote that she was harassed today by ZDF reporters and criticized the reporting as, in her opinion, deceitful, one-sided, and designed to provoke outrage. She attended an event of a local peace alliance, to which all parties in the state parliament had been invited. BSW and AfD had confirmed their attendance; among the guests were Gabriele Gysi and Tino Eisbrenner. According to Wittig, reporters were waiting for her with a running camera at her private vehicle, even though she had declined an interview in writing. For the article, a photo of her and Ulrich Siegmund is to be reused, which originally was part of a group photo with other leading candidates. Siegmund did not participate in the event. Wittig accused the media of primarily scandalizing a supposed closeness to the AfD and not reporting on the content of the event. #Journalismus #Meinungsfreiheit #Faktenchecker (translated)

Nayami reported after two months in a clinic and a week at home that things were slowly getting better. Therapies, the diagnosis of AuDHS, and medication had, in her own assessment, saved her life. She had not expected to fall into such a severe crisis because of it. The growing understanding of herself and external support had helped her increasingly perceive herself as a person, even though she still found it difficult. Feedback that she should just be herself had been hard for her to process in the past. Alongside positive traits such as kindness and honesty, descriptions of her as arrogant, intimidating, or particularly self-confident had caused her to reflect. Nayami stated that she wanted to set clearer boundaries in her private life as well as during streams, fairs, and events. She is learning to express her opinion, to provide constructive clarification instead of justifying herself, and to create a foundation where everyone can feel comfortable. #MentalHealth #Selbstakzeptanz #Therapie (translated)

Matthias accused Egon Krenz of having asked Mikhail Gorbachev during a visit to Moscow on November 1, 1989, for the deployment of Soviet troops against East German citizens. Gorbachev rejected this and stated that the troops would remain in their barracks. Krenz only signed the order against the use of firearms on November 3, Matthias wrote. He claimed that Krenz later falsely asserted that he had prevented bloodshed in the fall of 1989. The responsible commanders on the ground had waited in vain for orders from the leadership and had independently ordered not to shoot. Matthias also accused Krenz of shared responsibility for election fraud in May 1989 and wrote that he had approved of the Tiananmen massacre. Furthermore, Matthias pointed out that Krenz had been sentenced in 1997 to six years and six months in prison for manslaughter and co-responsibility for the East German border regime, of which he had served nearly four years. He criticized Krenz's complaints about the conditions of his detention in the Plötzensee prison, his defense of the GDR, and his complaints about the amount of his pension. Matthias also wrote that Krenz had only been in power for 50 days before being ousted by the people, and he stated that he should have been entitled to social welfare instead of pension and royalty payments. #DDR #Gorbatschow #Wende (translated)
