Jan Molski rhetorically asked who was lying about the Łączna Zoo: the police commander in Wałbrzych or Henning-Kloska, who — as he wrote — was denying everything after the action of MP Macko. He added that he expected a shifting of responsibility between the parties. https://t.co/jyfBcwRa0s https://t.co/M8HY6YjtFw #Polska #policja #ZOOŁączna (translated)

Grzegorz Macko 4d

Grzegorz Macko reported that in Mieroszów he participated in a crisis management team regarding the situation at the zoo in Łączna, and then met with protesters outside the garden. During the meeting, as he relayed, he learned from the police chief in Wałbrzych that the Ministry of Climate and Environment, led by Paulina Henning-Kloska, had been involved in discussions about transporting animals from Poland to the Netherlands for some time. Macko wrote that the zoo fence was damaged and more foundations were withdrawing from activities on its premises and taking over the animals. He accused the voivode, Anna Żabska from the Civic Coalition, of convening the crisis team but not attending it herself. According to him, there was chaos on the spot, no one responsible for coordination, and institutions did not indicate who would take care of the animals after the organizations withdrew. He added that the police officers moved among the animals and provided them with water. He conveyed that a representative of the prosecutor's office said during the crisis team that activities were completed the previous day. Macko added that in the afternoon the court did not grant the prosecutor's request to arrest the owner of the zoo. The politician emphasized that in his opinion, politicians and residents should not decide who is right in the dispute or assess whether irregularities occurred. However, he considered it the politicians' duty to evaluate the actions of state services. He described the situation at the zoo as an example of serious communication, organizational, and perhaps legal problems. He also wrote that the case showed, as he assessed, a broader dysfunction of the state, also in terms of animal welfare. #ZOO #OchronaZwierząt #Kryzys (translated)

Joanna Grabarczyk wrote that the case of Marek Kubala, a Seat dealer from Wałbrzych, was another high-profile action by the District Prosecutor's Office in Wałbrzych. According to her, the same unit contributed, among other things, to the ruin of his business. Grabarczyk stated that Kubala fought for 23 years for 22 million in compensation and ultimately won the case "miraculously." https://t.co/G2ncw7F5wF #Wałbrzych #polska #sprawiedliwość (translated)

ThePolandNews reported that on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, clashes occurred between police and individuals protesting against the removal of animals from the private Zoo Łączna. According to reports, the protesters blocked the exit road, and officers, after calling for them to disperse, used force to remove them. The police were said to have reported that four individuals violated the physical integrity of officers and were taken into custody. Protesters accused the police of brutal intervention; one participant claimed that they hit a woman and failed to provide assistance to a man on the ground. ThePolandNews also recalled that the prosecutor's office in Wałbrzych had previously detained five individuals associated with the zoo, accusing them of animal abuse, malnutrition, and lack of proper veterinary care. According to the author, approximately 100 species lived at the facility, including tigers, kangaroos, and monkeys. Some animals were taken away, which met with opposition from zoo defenders demanding information about their further fate. #protest #zoo #policja (translated)

jacekzarzecki 4d

Jacek Zarzecki appealed to Waldemar Żurek and Arkadiusz Myrcha to end the prosecutor's actions in Wałbrzych regarding the ZOO in Łączna. He accused the prosecution of incompetence and lack of basic knowledge, and also suggested that it is acting under the influence of organizations presenting themselves as animal defenders. Zarzecki wrote that the facts, evidence, and regulations should determine the matter. He assessed that the stakes are the fate of the animals, which — he claimed — were taken under the pretext of saving them, the life savings of the zoo owners, and the jobs of nearly 30 people. He urged ministers to decide which side the state will take. #Prawo #ZOO #Polska (translated)

PAPAWERYNA described the case of 29-year-old Kacper Bucki, who died on September 5 after spending time in a hospital in Świdnica. According to the author, he had suffered from diabetes since childhood, and later he developed kidney failure requiring dialysis. The author stated that on August 31, after dialysis, Bucki began to vomit, and in the morning he had seizures. His father called an ambulance. Medical documentation, which the family was supposed to receive a month later, revealed that in the first hour of his stay in the ER, the patient required resuscitation and intubation. PAPAWERYNA wrote that he had severe metabolic acidosis, dangerously high potassium levels, and advanced kidney failure. According to her account, on the same day, it was decided to transport him home by ambulance. The family refused his admission, believing he should remain in the hospital, and Bucki returned to the facility in Świdnica. The author stated that the next day, instead of going for dialysis at the hospital in Wałbrzych, he was referred for a psychiatric consultation with a suspicion of schizophrenia. The psychiatrist reportedly found no grounds for his detention; the patient received an injection, the name of which — as the author wrote — was not in the documentation. PAPAWERYNA reported that the next day Bucki's father learned from a nurse that his son was in intensive care. According to the author, during the night he experienced cardiac arrest twice, and the family had not been informed about it previously. Bucki did not regain consciousness and died from brain swelling. The author wrote that dialysis was not performed, and she expressed her condolences to the family. #śmierć #cukrzyca #szpital (translated)

Konrad Krasuski 5d

Konrad Krasuski wrote that he spoke with an anonymous employee of the Veterinary Inspection about the situation around the zoo in Łączna. According to the informant, on October 2, during the Animal Rights Congress in the Senate, the Chief Veterinary Officer and representatives of the General Directorate for Environmental Protection were present, and discussions were already underway in the corridors about a future intervention at the zoo. The employee emphasized that identifying irregularities during an inspection does not automatically mean that animals must be taken away. As Krasuski reported, the informant distinguished between deficiencies that could be ordered to be corrected — such as an insufficient enclosure for a tiger — and situations where the animal's welfare is threatened enough to warrant immediate removal. He also assessed that there was no reason not to trust the District Veterinary Officer in Wałbrzych. According to the employee, the veterinarian had held this position since around 2015, had extensive knowledge, and difficult cases were consulted with him; in his opinion, animal removal was not necessary. The informant alleged that the authority of the Veterinary Inspection was being publicly undermined, and the responsibility for systemic problems fell on individual veterinarians. He claimed that after subsequent media scandals, district veterinarians were being changed, but this did not lead to real reforms. He also pointed out the lack of uniform procedures, support, specialized training related to zoo inspections, and a joint protocol for such inspections. He critically assessed the advisory teams at the Chief Veterinary Officer. As Krasuski conveyed, the employee believed that individuals associated with animal protection and social sciences had a significant impact on the discussion, while the knowledge and experience of veterinarians and field inspectors were being marginalized. He also noted that actions concerning the removal of animals from the zoo in Łączna were to be undertaken about six months after the notification, while the investigation by the same prosecutor's office concerning DIOZ lasted much longer. The employee stressed that the transport of wild and exotic animals, when necessary, requires prior preparations: acclimatizing the animal to the transport crate and ensuring the presence of a familiar caretaker. According to him, severe stress can lead some species to refuse food, panic, or self-harm. The informant also indicated that veterinarians were asked very short notice about the possibility of sedating animals before transport and assessed that such an operation should not be organized ad hoc. As Krasuski reported, the employee believed that transport could be justified in direct threat to life or health, but in other circumstances, the transport itself and the associated stress could also pose significant risks to the animals. #OchronaZwierząt #ZOO #Weterynaria (translated)

Adam Gwiazda 2w

Adam Gwiazda wrote that in Wałbrzych, two citizens of Bangladesh and a citizen of India were alleged to have killed and dismembered a goat in the back of a restaurant. According to his post, a witness notified the police, and the men explained that such behavior is normal in their countries. The goat was to be a meal for two of them. The citizen of India claimed to be a vegetarian and did not confess to the crime. Gwiazda stated that the prosecutor's office applied to the court for a conditional discontinuation of the proceedings against all three. He added that a similar incident had occurred two years earlier at a kebab shop in Oława, and the perpetrators had similarly justified their actions at that time. #Wałbrzych #polska #bezpieczeństwo (translated)

The authorities reported that the prosecutor's office in Wałbrzych requested to refrain from punishing three foreigners — two citizens of Bangladesh and one citizen of India — who, according to the entry, killed a goat in the backyard of a renovated and closed restaurant. The author stated that the prosecutor's office justified the request by saying that the men did not know that in Poland it is illegal to kill animals. The authorities expressed the opinion that the permissibility of such actions in other countries does not exempt one from responsibility before the Polish justice system, and expressed hope that the court would not side with the prosecutor's position.

Schnepf: W domyśle mogą w następnym kroku to powiedzieć...

Pamięta kontrole, postoje, celników, paszporty i niepewność.
