Grzegorz Płaczek wrote that the Ministry of Health planned to introduce mandatory HPV vaccinations for children in Poland starting from 2027, despite opposition. He stated that on September 30, 2026, the Commission for the Codification of Criminal Law proposed raising the maximum fine for evading mandatory vaccinations from 1500 to 9000 PLN. Płaczek also indicated that governors could impose administrative fines on parents of up to 10,000 PLN at once and up to 50,000 PLN in total, regardless of any misdemeanor proceedings. According to him, the money could be deducted from accounts before the dispute with the state is resolved, and proceedings in administrative courts could last four years or longer. The author claimed that a similar system would apply to HPV vaccinations. He wrote that outside of North Macedonia, they are only recommended worldwide, and prevention should be based on information and informed decisions made by parents, not on financial sanctions. He advocated for the voluntary nature of HPV vaccinations and criticized the actions of the state. #szczepienia #zdrowie #prawo (translated)
