30 czerwca, po wielogodzinnej akcji górskiej, zdobyłem szczyt i wykonałem pełny zjazd narciarski z Nanga Parbat. Ponad 3700 m deniwelacji Drogą Messnera do poziomu bazy. Tener la lesión más dura que un futbolista puede tener en uno de los partidos más importantes de mi país y haber terminado de esta manera sin poder acompañar a mis compañeros hasta el final en la cancha y sin dejar al país representado como se merece es algo que me va a quedar marcado para mi vida. Tocar fondo me va hacer más fuerte en todo sentido, y siento que este es el caso. Sin duda cuando la vida quiere que pares te lo hace saber de algún modo. Está en mí sacar lo positivo de esto. Suffering the most serious injury a footballer can face in one of the most important matches in my country’s history, and seeing it end this way without being able to stay on the pitch and support my teammates until the final whistle, is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Hitting rock bottom will make me stronger in every sense, and I truly believe that’s the case here. Without a doubt, when life wants you to stop, it finds a way to let you know.
