To the mob - voters of PiS. The case of the studio apartment of Karol Nawrocki and Marta Nawrocka née Smoleń. Have you heard about the case of Paweł Bomba, a freak fight player who was serving a sentence for fraud related to taking over an apartment in Gdańsk? This incident evokes associations with other similar events, including the fraud committed by Karol Nawrocki, the current president of Poland. Paweł Bomba, also known by the nickname "Scarface," was conclusively sentenced in January 2023 to two years in prison for fraud. The incident occurred in 2017 in Gdańsk, where Bomba and his partner purchased a studio apartment of approximately 28 m² from a person with an intellectual disability. The property was valued at 80,000 PLN, which constituted about one-third of its market value. The court determined that Bomba did not even pay this undervalued amount, misleading the victim about the intention to fulfill the contract. Bomba did not report to serve his sentence but was arrested on February 9, 2023. Earlier, in 2023, Karol Nawrocki's son, Daniel, conducted an interview with him in prison, which provoked additional media controversy. Bomba's case is connected to a broader circle of people associated with the fighting sports environment and organized crime. Patryk Masiak, known as "Wielki Buu," is a freak fight fighter and a longtime acquaintance of Karol Nawrocki. Masiak was sentenced for kidnapping and served time, and was also linked by prosecutors to a pimping gang. In 2017, he was arrested in connection with the activities of a criminal group involved in profiting from prostitution. After fleeing abroad, he was detained in September 2025 at Hamburg airport just before departing for the United Arab Emirates, based on a European Arrest Warrant. A German court in November 2025 approved his extradition to Poland, where prosecutors in Lublin are investigating his involvement in drug trafficking, car thefts, and activities in an organized criminal group. A photo of Masiak with Nawrocki became a topic of discussion during the presidential campaign in 2025. Controversy surrounding Karol Nawrocki, then a councilor of Gdańsk and later the president of the IPN, erupted in May 2025 during the presidential campaign. Nawrocki, a candidate supported by PiS, initially declared that he owned only one apartment. However, it turned out that in March 2017, he and his wife Marta purchased a studio apartment of 28.5 m² in the Gdańsk district of Siedlce from Jerzy Ż., ailing senior citizen. The transaction was for 120,000 PLN, and Nawrocki claimed he was helping Ż. as a neighbor and community activist, providing him with funds to buy out a municipal apartment in 2011 (for 12,000 PLN, which is 10% of the value). According to media reports from Onet journalists, the contract from 2012 obligated the Nawrockis to care for Ż., but in reality, the senior was placed in a Social Welfare Home in Gdańsk in April 2024, where the city covers his maintenance costs. Nawrocki obtained power of attorney from Ż., which allowed him to independently conduct the sale transaction in 2017 (effectively selling the property to himself). In August 2021, Nawrocki submitted a declaration of lifelong care for Ż., even after his death, which raises questions about intentions. The District Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk-Śródmieście launched an investigation in June 2025 regarding suspected fraud (Article 286 §1 of the Penal Code), specifically concerning leading Ż. into an unfavorable disposal of property between 2012-2017. In July 2025, they refused to initiate investigations into seven ancillary threads, including actions detrimental to the city of Gdańsk. The main investigation is ongoing, and Nawrocki, who won the presidential elections in 2025, donated the studio apartment for charitable purposes to an association from Gdynia in May 2025. Similarities between the cases: - Year and place: All incidents occurred in 2017 in Gdańsk. - Modus operandi: In both cases (Bomba and Nawrocki), it involved taking over a studio apartment from a person in a difficult situation (disability or loneliness and health problems) for an undervalued price or in exchange for a promise of care. Bomba did not pay, Nawrocki paid, but care was not fully realized. - Connections: Bomba, Masiak, and Nawrocki are linked to the boxing and freak fighting communities. Masiak is an acquaintance of Nawrocki, and the president's son conducted an interview with Bomba. - Notary: The transactions took place in a similar timeframe. - Buyout: In both cases, the buyers assisted in the buyout of the municipal apartment. Differences: - Legal consequences: Bomba served his sentence, Masiak is detained awaiting charges. Nawrocki has not been convicted; the case is ongoing, but as president, he enjoys immunity. A group of American senators, both Republican and Democratic, has called on U.S. President Donald Trump to withdraw the invitation to Russian leader Vladimir Putin for the G20 summit, reports the Washington Post. A bipartisan group of 14 senators reminded Trump in a letter that Putin is responsible for initiating the war against Ukraine. "Allowing him to participate in the summit raises serious concerns about legitimizing and normalizing authorities that attack civilian targets in Ukraine every day," it added. The politicians noted that both Putin and Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, along with other members of the Russian delegation, are subject to U.S. sanctions for their involvement in actions that pose a threat to national security. Radio ZET reveals a very interesting mechanism. The Chancellery of the President wanted to organize a summit at the Pilecki Institute in New York, but instead of reaching out to the Institute directly, it asked the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the UN to do it on its behalf. The Representation signed a contract for $35,000, but when asked by Dominika Długosz, it responds that it was not the organizer and points to the Chancellery of the President. Meanwhile, representatives of the Ministry of Culture do not understand why such a structure was used at all, as a state event organized by the Chancellery could have taken place at the Institute for free. There is only one problem: then the organizer would have to be the Chancellery, not a private foundation. State institutions provide a venue and bear the costs, while a private foundation sells sponsorship packages for tens of thousands of dollars at the event. Radio ZET describes a structure in which successive institutions point to each other. It does not look like a normal and transparent way of organizing an event involving the head of state. But it could also mean a thirty-zloty book for every birthday until they reach adulthood. 6. Don't choose both godparents from the same couple. It's enough for you to argue over a seat at the wedding table, and the child loses both sources of funding. Diversify.
