AjaTollaH GPW presented a satirical calendar of the construction of Gdynia in a hypothetical scenario where Donald Tusk staged a coup in May 1926. According to the author, in 1926, engineer Kwiatkowski would have been replaced by engineer Wiśniewski, who was described as suffering from seasickness and reluctant towards ships. A year later, audits would have undermined the possibility of completing the port by 1932, and in 1928, the government would have wanted to modify the design to accommodate the largest bulk carriers in the world, which had not yet been seen in the Baltic. The author wrote that in 1929, the name Gdynia would have been changed to "Port Polska" due to its discredit by the Endecja party, and a year later, the railway route would have been redesigned so that trains would only reach Tczew. In 1931, Wiśniewski would have been replaced by Śliwiński, who had previously been concerned with nature conservation; in 1932, the last foreign company would have withdrawn from the bids. According to the calendar, in 1933, the budget deficit would have forced a 50% reduction in the construction budget, while in 1934, inflation would have raised it by 50%. In the following years, as described by the author, the government would have considered a parallel expansion of the port in Władysławowo, that is, a "duoport," and in 1936, Śliwiński would have been replaced by Jabłoński, who had recently been the starosta of Puck. In 1937, there were plans to move the port to Puck, and a year later, the last company expected to build the original Gdynia would have gone bankrupt. The first construction works would only have begun in the summer of 1939. #Gdynia #Historia #Budownictwo (translated)
