The so-called "Norwegian model" is also being discussed in the Parliament, where child home care allowance cannot be received if one has lived in Finland for less than 3 years. The home care allowance has been a poverty trap especially for immigrant mothers. (translated)

The decision by Finland to join the same nuclear deterrent as France, like Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, was completely correct. Finland should be involved in all initiatives in which other Nordic countries and our closest partners are participating. Active defense policy is Finland's security. (translated)

In February 2024, I was on the same train in Ukraine as the high-level politicians from Europe who were targeted by a drone attack near the Polish border over the weekend. We were evacuated to a basement. About an hour later, we were able to continue our journey. In Russia, they know who was on the train. (translated)

Has the SDP really made the rhetoric of hatred the engine of its campaign? Is this the path you want other parties to take too? Politicians should rather be building trust, not walls and hatred, between different people. (translated)

The large investment by Google should be good news. Nevertheless, the newspapers and social media are overflowing with increasingly negative headlines. If everything is seen only in terms of risks and problems, should we still wonder why Finland's economy has not grown for a long time? (translated)

The foreign minister @elinavaltonen does not need to stand behind the statement alone. I stand beside her. Defending international law is important, and it is especially important for Finland, a small country on the northern edge of Europe, far from others. (translated)

The death of Oraksen is shocking. A life-threatening person must be treated and everything possible must be done to save them. At that moment, there is no time to think about any bureaucratic issues of the administration. The matter requires a proper investigation into why this was handled in this way. (translated)

What an awesome piece of news! This has been awaited. This will bring over 37,000 jobs to Finland. And the best part is, additional energy infrastructure will also be built. This is just the boost our country needs for the economic growth that has already started. Yes!👌 (translated)

Now schools need to return to the basics. Books back. Equal groups and special classes instead of all-encompassing inclusive education. Every spring check if what is required for the next grade level has been learned. If not, no more mercy grades, but back to learning what has not been mastered. (translated)

Extremely worrying that the level of expertise has continued to decrease. The increase in the number of immigrants and the decline in literacy explain part of it, but only part of it. New Pisa results released: Finland continues its cold plunge – “That time has passed” (translated)

The negative effects of the strongly increased immigration towards Europe must be discussed bravely, even if not everyone likes it. If we do not talk about them and do something about it, the popularity of parties representing extreme thinking will also grow in elections beyond just Germany. (translated)

Although this is just a small electoral area in Germany, it could foreshadow a wider future. In France, under Le Pen's leadership, the same could happen next spring. Immigration and unemployment are causing dissatisfaction, which the ruling parties must respond to in time. (translated)

I clarify my message from yesterday, which may have been misinterpreted due to its brevity. Finnish Jews, and especially their children, are not responsible for Israel's politics, and nothing in the Middle East justifies such treatment. This should be clear to everyone. (translated)

Journalists should look deeper into what these mockeries and aggressions are really about. I personally don't believe it's always about hating Jews, but rather about what people see daily in the news images of Israel's actions in Gaza and the West Bank. (translated)

Antisemitism is disgusting and condemnable. We should remember this from history. When many follow the daily news images of suffering children in Gaza as a result of Israeli bombings, it certainly reflects how Jews are treated. (translated)

Finally, the leadership has awakened to the narrowing of students' language skills. The English language dominates, and the number of writers in French and German has also shrunk to a minimum. The overvaluation of mathematics in university admissions is one key reason for this. Change is needed. (translated)

It is quite obvious that in countries at war, there is the latest expertise on what the most effective weapons are specifically in today's warfare. Therefore, our cooperation with Ukraine, for example in the use of drones, is also important. (translated)

We are living in dangerous times, so Finland must be ready to defend itself. The protocol is about acquiring the best-performing weapons and defense materials for our country. The decision regarding the procurement of David's slings was made during Marin's government. (translated)

If poverty had a face, it could look like this. I led the election observation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Sarajevo in 2018. At that time, I visited a museum dedicated to the memory of the 8000 Bosnian men and boys who were killed under Mladic's command. (translated)
