The author of the entry described Poland as a client rather than a competitor, and asked who was responsible for ensuring that the country did not extract more gas. He wrote that the failures of Polish shale projects could not be explained solely by geology. He cited documents from the Supreme Audit Office, which — as he stated — showed the state's negligence, and referred to a warning from NATO's chief, which in his opinion required taking the Russian issue seriously. He added that the data on imports indicated who was profiting from it. https://t.co/nBwjHw1usQ #Polska #gaz #energetyka #PL #RU (translated)

Remek Kinas 2w

Remek Kinas reported that version 2.3.1 of the basal engine, released on October 21, has accelerated the performance of the basal-omni models. He wrote that in version 2.3, the engine with CUDA graphs began to fully support basal-omni (Gemma 4), previously available in fast mode via vLLM or slower PyTorch. Among the solutions implemented, he mentioned single calculations of document states for multiple questions as well as FlashAttention 3 and FlexAttention. In tests on a single H100 card, with 16 parallel queries, basal-omni-1.0-mini achieved 61.2 decisions per second compared to 10.0 in version 2.2, basal-omni-1.1-max — 16.2 compared to 4.8, and basal-omni-1.0-ultra — 6.1 compared to 2.0. For five questions about a long document, the results were 21.4 compared to 1.6, 10.6 compared to 0.72, and 4.8 compared to 0.28 decisions per second, respectively. Kinas noted that out of 10,606 test decisions, the best response matched version 2.2 in 99.85–99.99% of cases where the model was confident. The share of automated decisions at 1% error was expected to change by at most 0.1 points. Among the new features in version 2.3.1, he mentioned support for documents of up to 82,000 tokens by the ultra model on a single H100 card; previously, he noted that memory was insufficient above about 32,000. He also mentioned that in JevBench, basal did not provide 15 responses due to exceeding the limit. He added that agents and conversations only process the new part of the state, and the step for basal-omni-1.1-max was shortened from 0.79 to 0.27 seconds. In the case of multiple questions about a long document, the throughput of the mini model increased from 21.9 to 33.7 questions per second, a 54% increase. Kinas also wrote that Blackwell cards use the fast engine by default, and basal-2.0 (Bielik) in eager mode on H100 reduced response time from 591 to 52 ms. He listed clearer HTTP codes 422, 503, and 500, load available at /health, the basal-calibrate message about too few labels, and support for images and audio through vLLM for the mini model, which he described as 6–8 times faster. He also thanked the contributors and testers: Miłosz (Butterski), Grzegorz Brzezinka, from Piotrków, and Kamil (kamilrosa), as well as edurdias and the company BRAUN SI / NovaraX for testing on their own data. Special thanks were given to Damian Plewa and the IT SOL team for the basal-rs engine. #basal #AI #inference (translated)

Jacek Skała 2w

Jacek Skała wrote that the case of the Polish tiger would be revisited and that he would like to see the protocol for the transfer of the animal for safekeeping to the Dutchman. As he noted, he understood that a representative of the prosecuting authority, at least a police officer, went to the Netherlands with the tiger and prepared the documents required by the Code of Criminal Procedure there. He added that Polish criminal procedural law did not apply in the Netherlands. Skała considered it unlikely that the Dutchman would cover the costs of maintaining the tiger himself. He wrote that he and others would issue an invoice, and the animals would not be returned if payment was not made. He was also interested in the outcome of the judicial review of the decision to detain the tiger and the other animals. The author assessed that this was the largest operation in the history of Poland, during which more than 700 animals were simultaneously detained. He added that if it weren't for the leak, the action could have been discussed in textbooks on operational tactics for law students. #Tygrys #Prawo #Zwierzęta (translated)

Bartosz Michalski 2w

Bartosz Michalski wrote that some people referring to Michał Janczura's material may not have watched it. According to him, the material did not contain allegations against his publication but presented a broader picture of the case. Michalski emphasized that his materials for Portal Zero and Official Zero were based on the court's judgment and its justification, and reported the court's findings after the hearing, witness testimonies, and document analysis. As he pointed out, the justification noted that the father was aware of the previous interest in the family's situation by the District Court for Warsaw-Żoliborz, and the court took this into account when making its decision. Michalski wrote that the court, the guardian after conducting a home visit, initially also the police, and the court in Żoliborz saw no basis for taking the children away. According to him, before the intervention of the spokesperson, no decision had been made to take the children away, even though—according to Janczura's material—the family had been monitored by various institutions since 2024. Michalski denied that his materials depicted the family as problem-free. He wrote that he quoted a fragment of the justification in which the court took the father's past and his verdict into account. He also defended the decision to hear the family: he stated that the parents had not had the opportunity to present their version earlier, while the spokesperson was appearing in media favorable to her. He added that the spokesperson could also respond in his materials, and her statement was quoted in full. According to Michalski, Janczura did not resolve whether the court's decision was correct but pointed to chaos and a lack of information flow between institutions. Michalski wrote that he did not claim that the spokesperson should not react to a parent yelling at a child; his objections concerned adherence to procedures and acting regardless of institutions’ decisions. Michalski added that both the court and Janczura noted the composition of people present during the weekend meeting at the police headquarters. As it appeared, according to him, from the justification, the policewoman testified that in her several years of career, she encountered such extraordinary actions against one family for the first time. He also emphasized that it was the court, not he or Channel Zero, that assessed the actions of Hanna Horna-Cieślak as "institutional violence" and considered that the actions of state institutions initiated were grossly disproportionate to the event. #sprawiedliwość #rodzina #media (translated)

Jacek Dobrzyński informed that at the request of the District Prosecutor's Office in Siedlce, CBA agents detained another four people in connection with the reporting of fictitious donations to one of the parishes in the Mińsk Mazowiecki commune. According to him, so far 110 people have been charged, including the parish priest, and over 240 charges have been presented in total. Dobrzyński stated that investigators established that the money deposited into the church's account was returned to the donors in cash, in a reduced amount. The cleric was said to issue documents confirming fictitious donations, which allowed for tax relief. The total value of these donations was estimated at nearly 28 million PLN, with the losses to the State Treasury amounting to 3 million PLN. He added that the investigation is ongoing. #korupcja #polska #CBA (translated)

Piotr Kusznieruk 2w

Piotr Kusznieruk questioned whether the Sejm documented the verification of Maciej Berek's qualifications for selection to the Constitutional Tribunal. He wrote that Andrzej Filipowicz requested documents from the Chancellery of the Sejm and the Justice and Human Rights Committee, but the received response — according to Filipowicz’s account — did not mention documents from the bar association confirming Berek's qualifications and experience. Kusznieruk pointed out a discrepancy between Sejm print number 3006 from August 14, 2026, which stated that Berek had been practicing as a legal advisor since 2001 and actively for 25 years, and a certificate from OIRP in Warsaw dated September 3, 2026. According to the data he cited, Berek was entered on the list on June 26, 2002, and obtained his qualifications after taking the oath on September 25, 2002. The certificate listed the periods of registered legal practice from January 1, 2006, to July 31, 2009, and from August 1, 2012, to the date of issuance but did not include a list of civil law contracts. The author quoted responses from the Senate Chancellery and the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights, according to which Berek did not hold the position of legal advisor there nor provided legal assistance in that role. The Supreme Audit Office informed, however, that he was a legal advisor and performed duties aligned with the tasks of advisors, although the appointment of a controller as a legal advisor was not possible. Kusznieruk emphasized that the legal qualification of this work and the declared civil law contracts remained in dispute. According to Filipowicz's summary, if the two periods of Berek's work as a legal advisor in NIK are counted, his tenure was 1,345 days, or about 3 years and 8 months; without those periods, it was 387 days related to running a law office. Kusznieruk noted that this was an analysis of available materials and not a binding decision regarding the failure to meet the requirements. He called for determining who in the Sejm was responsible for verification and what documents were examined, indicating that any potential criminal liability under Article 231 § 1 or § 3 of the Penal Code would require demonstrating statutory prerequisites. #TrybunałKonstytucyjny #Prawo #InformacjaPubliczna (translated)
