Z buta dookoła Świata reported that he walked 62 km to Garies. He wrote that he was tired because he had eaten little since the previous day, and while walking, he felt muscles he usually did not feel. He couldn't find a suitable place to camp because, as he described, the area was fenced, and there were few bridges, so he completed the entire planned distance. He reached Garies around 7:30 PM, shortly after dark. He was refused accommodation at a gas station, but they pointed him to a nearby campground, where he paid 25 zlotys. He added that along the way he received a few gifts from people who reacted with disbelief to his story of nearly 25,000 km traveled on foot. He also described a meeting with a live, intensely red grasshopper. He didn't touch it because he suspected it might secrete a defensive substance; he had previously seen several dead specimens. #podróże #przygoda #trasa (translated)

From the journey around the world, he wrote that on that day he walked 27 km and stopped for the night by a small tunnel because he wasn't sure if he would find a secluded place to sleep further along. He emphasized that sleep was essential for him. He planned to cover the remaining 44 km to Steinkopf the next day, where according to iOverlander, there was supposed to be a relatively cheap room. If he managed to find it, he wanted to stay there for two nights, rest, do laundry, and buy new shoes or flip-flops. As he added, there was already a hole in the sole of the shoes he bought in Swakopmund. The author wondered whether to go to Cape Agulhas first and then to Cape Town, or to visit Cape Town earlier, apply for a visa extension, and only later head to Cape Agulhas. He wrote that there was little time, and the deadline for leaving for South America seemed tight. For now, he intended to head south and decide later, depending on how much time he had left. He also mentioned that exhaustion from the past week was visible on his face. He hoped to set out the next day at 6:00 am and reach Steinkopf, where he would find a cheap room. He admitted that there were tough days, but he added that after the rain, the sun shines, and jokingly stated that he might need a romance to regain his energy. #podróże #przygoda #wędrówki (translated)

A Polish patriot wrote that Pawel Edmund Strzelecki discovered gold in Australia and that his greatest achievement was saving over 200 thousand Irish children from dying of hunger. He called him the Polish Indiana Jones, a traveler who embarrassed the British Empire, and a hero of Poland and another state. According to the author, Strzelecki traveled alone across six continents, discovered Australian coal and oil, and also conquered and named Mount Kosciuszko, the highest peak in Australia. The Polish patriot also described him as one of the most prominent scientific researchers of his time and the first Pole to circumnavigate the globe. He recalled that Strzelecki died on October 6, 1873, and called for his memory to be restored. #Historia #Podróże #Polska (translated)
