Ale wyszło inaczej; prezydent🇰🇷oznajmił, że Trump ma rację, ograniczenie ćwiczeń to świetna decyzja, Korea obroni się sama, a ograniczenie roli USA pozwoli na osiągnięcie pokoju na Półwyspie Koreańskim. Parę uwag: Po pierwsze, tak odpowiada się na próbę szantażu w rodzaju tych Trumpa; płacenie haraczu - jak robi to Europa - nie da bezpieczeństwa, tylko wygeneruje dodatkowe koszty. Po drugie: warto zwrócić uwagę, że rezultatem wycofywania się USA nie musi być powrót do wojen i chaosu; może nim być albo wzmocnienie odstraszania (poprzez wzmocnienie zdolności konwencjonalnych), albo postawienie na dialog, poprzez zejście z maksymalistycznych pozycji. W tym tekście (https://t.co/ZLW1CKHQxB) autorzy zwracają uwagę, że panujące wśród sojuszników USA przekonanie, że Amerykanie ich obronią tworzyło "ryzyko moralne". Zachęcało te państwa do stawiania sobie bardziej ambitnych celów, oraz czyniło je mniej skłonnymi do ustępstw/negocjacji, bo zakładały one, że USA przyjdą im na pomoc. Więc można postawić tezę, że to obecność USA generowała więcej napięć.
