Daniele Ganser wrote that Trump demanded new elections in Ukraine on October 10, 2026, in front of reporters at Joint Base Andrews. Trump said that Zelensky should hold an election and a new president should be ready to end the war with Russia. According to Ganser, Trump explained that Zelensky was causing problems for the USA and the world. Ganser pointed out that Zelensky had been in office since 2019 and that his presidency ended in May 2024. A term usually lasts five years. At the same time, Ganser wrote that Zelensky had imposed martial law and Ukrainian law prohibits presidential and parliamentary elections during that time. He asked whether Trump would now let Zelensky fall and accused the USA of fueling the war for years with arms deliveries. #Ukraine #Trump #Selenskij (translated)

The author wrote that the AfD represents an ethnically based nationalism that makes cultural exclusion the benchmark for political belonging. Furthermore, according to his depiction, the party stands for social cuts, a close bond with NATO, arms deliveries to Israel, and massive rearmament. #AfD #Nationalismus #Politik #DE #IL (translated)

The article referred to the collaboration between AfD and BSW in Magdeburg as a "coalition of betrayal" and claimed that the parties had conspired against Ukraine. They demanded an immediate ceasefire, peace negotiations with Russia, an end to arms deliveries, and cuts to large parts of Ukraine aid. An abolition was also mentioned, but the article ended at this point. https://t.co/9okEcNFe4s #Magdeburg #Ukraine #Frieden #UA #RU (translated)

Nico Lange criticized a proposal by AfD and BSW in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt regarding peace talks. He wrote that Russia had attacked Ukraine and should not be rewarded for it. Ukraine has been ready for an unconditional and comprehensive ceasefire since March 2025, but Russia has not been so far. Therefore, pressure must be exerted on Moscow, Lange said. Arms deliveries do not necessarily extend the war, he argued. Germany is supplying air defense systems and ammunition that protect people and infrastructure. Ending support could weaken Ukraine's defense and make further waves of migration to Germany more likely. Lange also considered a complete lifting of sanctions against Russia before negotiations to be diplomatically unprofessional. The federal government supports a negotiated end to the war; it is crucial to move Russia towards a sustainable ceasefire and serious talks, he wrote. #Frieden #UkrainischerKonflikt #Diplomatie (translated)

The author wrote that it was fine with him if people threatened not to support him because of his stance for peace and against arms deliveries. He emphasized being free and not selling himself. He also stated that there would be people who supported his peace course and thanked those who supported his media work. (translated)

Regina Laska criticized that the AfD and BSW had presented their first joint substantive proposal shortly after the constitution of the new state parliament in Saxony-Anhalt. In this proposal, they demanded, according to their portrayal, to stop German financial and military support for Ukraine and to lift sanctions against Russia. The state government should advocate for this in the Bundesrat; a special session is planned for October 14. Laska referred to a statement by BSW faction vice Claudia Wittig, who had called for a policy that thought more about Köthen than about Kyiv. In contrast, Laska presented results from the Saxony-Anhalt Monitor 2025: out of 1,077 respondents, who could name up to three problems, foreign policy was mentioned twelve times. Infrastructure and mobility ranked first with 360 mentions, economy and finance second with 352, followed by social issues, jobs, and education. Laska wrote that decisions on arms deliveries and sanctions were made by the federal government and the EU, while municipal financial equalization was state law. Therefore, the AfD and BSW had initially used their joint majority for a topic that the state parliament could not change, rather than for municipal finances. She described this as populism and accused the parties of pursuing a policy in the interests of Moscow. #SachsenAnhalt #AfD #Politik (translated)

The author wrote that the AfD in Saxony-Anhalt wants to work together with the BSW to achieve a majority ending of the Russia sanctions, a return to Russian gas, and a condemnation of arms deliveries to Ukraine. As a result, Saxony-Anhalt would become the first federal state according to his depiction. He described the development as a "bombshell." #AfD #SachsenAnhalt #Russland #RU #UA #DE (translated)

Claudia Wittig, MdL, wrote that her first request called on the federal government to advocate for diplomacy, to stop arms deliveries to Ukraine, and not to provide any further billions in aid to the country. Humanitarian assistance should be excluded from this. She described the request as "the first strike." https://t.co/T6CHuWCDaY #Diplomatie #Waffenlieferungen #Ukraine (translated)

Lexa wrote that Friedrich Merz explained on the Tagesschau that Russia is waging war against Europe and Germany. As evidence, Merz cited an "armed attack" on the Leipzig airport on August 4, which he claimed was solely carried out by Russia. Lexa interpreted this formulation as a justification for further arms deliveries, rearmament, and sanctions. The resulting costs, including higher energy prices, the migration of industry, and burdens on the budget, would, in his opinion, be imposed on the citizens. Moreover, people who questioned the evidence or the benefits of continued support for Kiev would be portrayed as opponents. According to Lexa, the EU is also pursuing this course and rejecting negotiations with Moscow as long as the guns are not silent. He wrote that this condition prolongs the conflict instead of ending it. #Russland #Krieg #Energiepreise (translated)

Regina Laska wrote that the Russian Foreign Ministry warned against a stay in Kyiv on Saturday and announced further massive attacks. Just a few hours later, the train of Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived unexpectedly at the main train station in Kyiv, accompanied by Minister of Economy Katherina Reiche and representatives from the defense and energy industries. Laska called Merz's trip a bold and important sign in light of the situation. Russia has been attacking the Dnipro bridges connecting East and West Kyiv for days, wrote Laska. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian intelligence service has seen documents indicating that Vladimir Putin has issued a new doctrine foreseeing attacks on roads, logistics, schools, and hospitals to drive people out of Kyiv and other cities. The documents are not public, and Moscow has denied the allegations, she added. Laska wrote that people might flee from cities that are becoming increasingly uninhabitable in winter to Poland, the Czech Republic, or Germany. The provision for Ukrainian refugees has cost Germany around 32.4 billion euros since the start of the war, she cited an overview from the Ministry of Finance quoted by Spiegel. She criticized that these costs are being used in Germany as an argument against supporting Ukraine, including against arms deliveries. Merz wrote from Kyiv that Germany is helping out of self-interest because its own security depends on the outcome of the war, Laska stated. He announced one billion euros in military aid, 350 million euros for the energy system, thousands of interception drones, and closer German-Ukrainian defense cooperation. Officially, Taurus cruise missiles are still missing, she wrote. In October 2024, Merz said Germany must deliver Taurus to hit Russian supply routes if Putin does not end the bombardment of the Ukrainian civilian population within 24 hours. Although Moscow has since openly announced further massive attacks, Taurus still has not arrived, wrote Laska. #Ukraine #Russland #Politik (translated)

#Ukraine #Freiheit #Journalismus
