Mateusz Morawiecki presented during the Forum Ideas for Poland organized by the Sobieski Institute the proposals of Development Plus concerning attracting capital and investments as well as a new model of development for the country. He assessed that the model based on cheap labor is exhausted, and Poland should develop its own capital and technologies. He also pointed out that the strategy of a strong state should be based on capital, an army, and alliances and take Polish interests into account. In the dispute over debt, Morawiecki reminded that during his premiership, the debt in relation to GDP fell from 51% to 49.5%, while the state simultaneously financed social policy, local governments, and armaments. He advocated for the development of Poland as a center of trade, transport, and energy, pointing to CPK as the foundation of this strategy, also due to its military significance. He accused Minister Hetman of undermining the strategic sense of the project by limiting it and postponing deadlines. Morawiecki also called for the development of ports and reminded of the abandoned project of a container terminal in Świnoujście, which was supposed to take over trade handled by foreign ports. He described the conflict surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal as weakening the state and trust in the Polish economy, and Development Plus — as he noted — proposes a deep constitutional reset. He also pointed out the taxation of banks as a possible source of additional budget revenues. The party's proposals were presented under the slogan "#PoweredbyPoland". He listed public procurement supporting development, technologies for the economy and defense, lower energy and financing costs, and orderly public finances. He said that Development Plus was created to implement a strategy based on capital, investments, and plans for the coming decades. #Polska #Rozwój #Inwestycje (translated)
