Emanuel Boeminghaus praised Daniel Stelter's appearance on Markus Lanz. He wrote that Stelter had conveyed economic reason and expertise there; the clarity had seemed almost unreal to him. That such arguments appeared like a sensation on German television showed, in his view, how far Germany had strayed from economic normality. Boeminghaus thanked Stelter and recommended watching the show. https://t.co/cLvPHJTWuy #Wirtschaft #ÖffentlichRechtlich #Nachhaltigkeit (translated)

Regina Laska wrote that CDA chairman Dennis Radtke (CDU) referred to Gerhard Schröder's recent appearance in Moscow in the Tagesspiegel as a "case of moral bankruptcy" and called on the SPD to expel the former chancellor from the party. Laska agreed with him. Schröder was too ill to testify before a parliamentary inquiry but fit enough to celebrate Vladimir Putin's birthday in Moscow and accept a new supervisory board position in Russia. According to Laska, the SPD state chairpersons in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg are now also demanding a new expulsion procedure. The SPD district of Upper Palatinate voted unanimously in favor of it on Saturday. Schleswig-Holstein's SPD leader Ulf Kämpfer stated that the paths of the party and Schröder had parted ways many years ago. Laska asked why Schröder was still a member of the SPD. Previous expulsion procedures had failed in 2022 and 2023. It is not only about Schröder's differing stance on Russia policy, Laska wrote, but also about his demonstrative loyalty to Putin, who has been waging a war of annihilation against Ukraine for more than four and a half years. She also pointed out that SPD foreign policy expert Ralf Stegner had praised Schröder's visit to Putin. Pierre Orthen, chairman of the SPD local club in Baden-Württemberg's Leutenbach, publicly questioned whether this was in line with the responsibilities of a member of the Bundestag's Foreign Affairs Committee. Laska wrote that Stegner had held talks with Kremlin-affiliated representatives in Baku in April 2025. It apparently concerned the future of the Petersburg Dialogue, which Schröder co-founded with Putin in 2001. In June 2026, Stegner was said to have praised Schröder's connection to Putin; now he had attended Putin's birthday party. Laska asked what these contacts had achieved for peace in Ukraine and wrote that anyone justifying such talks as efforts for peace must also be able to explain what they had accomplished. #Schröder #Ukraine #SPD (translated)

The Hayek Club Weimar described socialism as a beneficial business model for politicians. State benefits and subsidies created dependency and thus secured voter support, the account wrote. Politicians would thereby become suppliers and citizens clients. In contrast, capitalism posed a threat to the political class, argued the Hayek Club Weimar, because it rewarded personal responsibility, innovation, and private initiative, making people more independent of the state. Regulations intended to tame the market served, according to the account, to limit competition and protect established interests. The account also accused politicians of portraying capitalism as unjust and antisocial while presenting the state as a moral authority. The state did not want free individuals but dependent subjects, wrote the Hayek Club Weimar, linking its criticism to calls for freedom and property as well as a rejection of taxes and state coercion. #FreiheitstattKnechtschaft #SteuernsindRaub #Eigentum #Freiheit #ParasitenwegmitEuremZwang #Freiheit #Kapitalismus #Sozialismus (translated)

Konrad Schuller contradicted Ralf Stegner and wrote that Gerhard Schröder's appearance does not bring peace closer, but has the opposite effect. The buddy-like staging makes Vladimir Putin appear like a friendly uncle, downplays his crimes and helps him with murder, because Schröder's supporters find him likable and do not take action against him. #Politik #Frieden #Putin (translated)

The X-author Klartext from Munich claimed that 288 million euros of German tax money would benefit the gold mines of the mining company Endeavour Mining in Senegal. Its largest shareholder is the asset manager BlackRock, for whose German branch Friedrich Merz had worked. During a recent appearance in the Bundestag, Merz defended development aid, arguing that wealthy countries need to contribute to the stability of other regions, the author wrote. He criticized that while debts are being serviced domestically and roads and bridges decayed, German tax money is being used abroad. He also referred to voices from the opposition that spoke of a misallocation of funds and raised allegations of corruption. https://t.co/YXelzFfb40 #Klöckner #Lanz #Koalition #Dienstwagen #Demokratie #Schröder #Landesverrat #Steuergelder #Entwicklungshilfe #Demokratie (translated)

Korina Graf wrote that Nico Lange commented live on the situation in Ukraine in a broadcast from ZDFheute. Lange stated that one should be ashamed of Schröder's appearance in Moscow while Russia continues to kill people in Ukraine. The AfD is already calling for Ukraine's capitulation, even though it does not yet govern. Lange also explained that a state parliament is not responsible for such issues: foreign policy and European sanctions are decided at the federal or EU level. The political staging does not solve problems on the ground. Russia has attacked Ukraine, which is defending itself. Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire, but Russia is not; therefore, pressure must be exerted on the aggressor. According to Graf, Lange also warned against Russian propaganda, which does not become true through repetition. He mentioned bots, orchestrated comments, and recurring false reports, pointing out how exhausting it is to refute them repeatedly. Graf thanked him for articulating these points so clearly. https://t.co/FNNI6vurcF #Ukraine #Russland #Politik (translated)
