Jakub Tepper described six months of pain, inflammation, and fluid accumulation in his knee. As he wrote, the problems began during his stay in Japan, where he walked a lot up and down stairs. In Poland, he visited two physiotherapists and an orthopedist, and also had an MRI done. According to his account, the visits and tests cost him several thousand zlotys in total, and previous treatments provided only short-lived relief. Tepper wrote that during his stay in Japan, he accidentally ended up with a physiotherapist who, after a conversation and brief examination, believed that the problem might stem from pushing the hips forward and improper loading of the legs while walking. The therapist advised him to change the way he placed his feet and went up the stairs, as well as to work on his posture; he also performed massage and stretching. The visit cost 125 zlotys. The author reported that after the meeting, he felt significant relief, and the pain and inflammation almost disappeared. He noted that he did not want to draw categorical conclusions from a single case, but wrote that the Japanese physiotherapist identified the cause of his complaints in just a few minutes. #fizjoterapia #medycyna #zdrowie (translated)
Deweloperuch.pl wrote that hiding offers can be a tool for developers to influence customer decisions and provoke FOMO by creating a sense of scarcity of apartments. According to the author, properties marked as sold or reserved sometimes return to the market after a few months. In the example shown in the picture, the apartment was supposed to disappear from the market for 4 months, and then reappear at a price 600 thousand higher. Deweloperuch.pl announced that its new charts will show price changes and periods during which offers disappeared and reappeared on the market. #deweloper #nieruchomości #FOMO (translated)

Tomasz Włodarczyk criticized Jan Urban's decisions, pointing out that if the goal was to gradually build a new Polish national team, more than the poor results, he was troubled by the mistakes in the selection of solutions. He mentioned, among other things, the withdrawal from the position of Kiwior at left back, the sudden return to a three-defender formation, and the omission of Wiśniewski, the resignation from Puchacz, and the placement of Świderski on the wing both when wingers were available and when strikers were lacking. The author assessed that Urban, as a coach, should observe more, yet he repeated the mistakes made by his predecessors. He noted that young players, including Nowak and Potulski, did not disappoint during the camp, and the mistakes concerning Mońca, Gurgul, or Mazurek could be considered mitigating circumstances. He added that the national team forgives less than clubs and should not be a place for regularly testing solutions that are highly unlikely to work. Włodarczyk also accused Urban of not providing enough options in attack and left back through his selections. He reminded that Poland played four matches in eleven days, and the coach should consider injuries, suspensions, and the course of the matches. After the loss in a key game, he considered the lack of options for substitutions in attack to be a serious mistake; he pointed out that a strong striker good in the air could have been useful in recovering from a deficit. The author assessed that Urban had little time, but wanted him to be given a chance for correction in November, as the camp provided him with some concrete answers. He acknowledged that others might find this insufficient, while emphasizing that simply changing the coach would not solve the problems, especially if done hastily. #ReprezentacjaPolski #JanUrban #Futbol (translated)

Její matka Sarah máčela plenky v kbelíku a znečištěnou vodu vylévala do jímky před domem. Cihlovou vyzdívku studny přitom od této prosakující jímky dělil necelý metr. Osmého září, přesně v den, kdy rukojeť pumpy zmizela, onemocněl i otec, strážník Thomas Lewis. Právě on vypátral osud nemocného dítěte v sousedství pumpy. Snow původce nemoci na vlastní oči nespatřil. Téhož roku 1854 sice bakterii pod mikroskopem ve Florencii popsal anatom Filippo Pacini a pojmenoval ji Vibrio cholerae, vědecký svět jej však ignoroval. Robert Koch sklidil slávu až o tři desetiletí později. Snow pracoval bez znalosti mikrobiálního patogenu – pouze s mapou, výpověďmi svědků a statistickým srovnáním. Položil tím základy moderní epidemiologie: zdroj nákazy hledej podle toho, kdo onemocněl a kdo neonemocněl. Dnes nese Broad Street název Broadwick Street. Na chodníku stojí černá replika pumpy bez páky a naproti ní hostinec John Snow. Odkaz slavného lékaře udržuje The John Snow Society (@JohnSnowSociety). Záznamy na mapě z roku 1854 dodnes předávají stejné poselství: předsudek dokáže zdánlivě vysvětlit cokoli, teprve data však neomylně ukážou skutečný zdroj problému. Cholera přitom ze světa nezmizela. Pouze ustoupila do oblastí, kde schází přístup k nezávadné vodě. Světová zdravotnická organizace (@WHO) v roce 2026 nadále eviduje desítky tisíc případů měsíčně, především v Africe a na Blízkém východě. Princip jejího řešení přitom zůstává stejný jako tehdy v Soho: najít zdroj dříve, než převáží pohodlné domněnky. Osmého září 1854 se v Soho neodehrál medicínský zázrak. Stalo se něco mnohem střízlivějšího a trvalejšího: někdo odmontoval kliku pumpy, protože strohá data odporovala zažité teorii o jedovatých výparech. P.S.: Každý den publikuji alespoň jeden příběh o tom, jak zvídavost zvítězila nad zažitými představami. Pomozte tyto texty šířit – podpořte je lajkem, komentářem, sdílením, uložením či odběrem, ať vám neuniknou další pokračování. Kterou symbolickou „kliku“ byste dnes navrhovali odmontovat vy? #cholera #historie #epidemiologie

#Politik #Koalition #AfD
#Pasibus #polskagastronomia #jedzenie
A to ci niespodziewany sprzymierzeniec: Aleksandra Jakubowska.
