#Lügenfritz

(TR) Whoever calls the Chancellor "Lying Fritz" will be punished because this statement "fuels aggression." I don't understand this: The statement was made because the aggression was already there due to the lies? 🤔

(TR) " lying Fritz " now punishable - but is on everyone's lips. How the Chancellor's Anzeige-itis backfired. A Facebook word, overzealous prosecutors, a compliant judge, and a fine of 2,000 euros - this is freedom of opinion in Germany 2026. And the bitter irony:

(TR) While politicians lie to the people, this special paragraph does not protect democracy, but rather the powerful from justified criticism. Paragraph 188 of the Criminal Code should be abolished immediately! Those who speak the truth should not be punished.

(TR) In "The State Against Steinhöfel" (SPIEGEL No. 1 bestseller), I describe how the state criminalizes opinions. Now the judiciary is diligently providing evidence: 30 daily rates – a month's salary – for the word "Lying Fritz." I can't buy better advertising.

(TR) Why "Lying Fritz" is allowed and why the criminal justice system is already failing here again. Those who call the Chancellor "Lying Fritz" are exercising pointed political criticism. This is the essence of freedom of expression. Article 5 of the Basic Law protects sharp, polemical, and even exaggerated statements.

(TR) If you have a chancellor who delivers the opposite of what was promised after the election, and you call this chancellor (whom we will not name) "Lying Fritz," you make yourself liable. This is called "freedom of opinion 2.0." You need to know that.
