Giorgia Meloni: “I read the left's controversies because I did not go to the United Nations General Assembly, where Italy is represented by the Foreign Minister as happens for many European countries, and because on Monday evening I was instead at the inaugural dinner of Fashion Week in Milan. I went there to tell a sector worth over 86 billion in exports that the Government is there. Not just in words: 100 million for investments and serious work on training and human capital, because that is where those businesses struggle the most to find the necessary skills. I acknowledge that for the left, Fashion Week is a stage. For me, it’s the people who work in it: seamstresses, pattern makers, leather workers, technicians, small businesses that keep the part of Italy that the world envies us afloat. Calling it a "blunder" to be close to a struggling sector says everything about how much they know about real Italy.” (translated)
