Nadja Natalie Isaksen wrote that 500 Syrians had been granted early retirement by the Social Democrats alone since the fall of Assad and the end of the war in December 2024. She asserted that they thereby automatically met the employment requirement for permanent residency and Danish citizenship, and added that it had previously been promised that they would only be in Denmark temporarily. #Syrien #Førtidspension #Indvandringspolitik (translated)

Martin Ågerup 2w

Martin Ågerup wrote that his post about beef in Copenhagen nursing homes had led to media attention, and that Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen had criticized that the elderly were denied the meat they wanted. According to him, Mayor Sisse Marie Welling (SF) and the Radical Left's Jakob Skyggebjerg believed that the municipality's food strategy had been misunderstood and that the kitchens decided for themselves. They explained that denied birthday wishes for beef were due to misunderstandings, he wrote. Ågerup referred to municipal documents which, according to him, showed that the kitchens were guided by the food strategy's guidelines. The elderly should have a maximum of 80 grams of beef, veal, and lamb per week, he wrote: in the warm meal, no more than once a week, averaging 75 grams, and as cold cuts, one slice every other week. He also wrote that the municipality had a consulting agreement worth 7.8 million kroner per year, among other things, to help the kitchens meet climate goals, and that a draft of the upcoming strategy suggested closer follow-up on the guidelines. According to Ågerup, it was not surprising that kitchen staff reported that residents' birthday wishes for beef were rejected in several places due to considerations for the CO₂ balance. He wrote that the examples were on page 34 of a report the municipality itself had commissioned, and criticized Skyggebjerg for demanding documentation from the Taxpayers. Ågerup believed it was shirking political responsibility to blame the staff. He wrote that Welling and Skyggebjerg assured that the elderly's nutrition and wishes weighed heavier than climate considerations. However, on August 20, according to him, SF, the Red-Green Alliance, and the Radicals voted against recommending that the elderly sector be exempted from the upcoming strategy. The proposal was put forward by the Conservatives, the Liberal Alliance, the Danish People's Party, and the Social Democrats. At the same meeting, the administration suggested, according to Ågerup, that the committee's consultation response should state that the elderly's nutritional needs, individual wishes, and freedom of choice always took precedence over climate, ecology, and food waste. He wrote that SF, the Red-Green Alliance, and the Radicals removed both the phrasing about individual wishes and freedom of choice and the text stating that the elderly's needs always took precedence over the strategy's other goals. Ågerup questioned why the guarantee had been removed if the elderly's wishes came first, and urged the red majority either to stand by the consequences of the strategy or exempt elderly care from it. He wrote that the Taxpayers recommended an exemption. The nursing home was the elderly's home, he emphasized, and the residents paid rent as well as 145 kroner a day for food, over 4,400 kroner a month. Therefore, he believed they should decide what was on their plate. #ældrepleje #madpolitik #oksekød (translated)

Jotam Confino wrote that four parties had told B.T. that they expected the police to intervene in case of possible law violations during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Copenhagen. According to Confino, B.T. had documented that several demonstrators openly celebrated Hamas and the massacre on October 7. The Social Democrats' political spokesman, Rasmus Stoklund, told B.T. that he only knew of the demonstration from the media coverage. He condemned the glorification of Hamas and the attack on October 7 and expected the authorities to intervene in case of law violations regarding masking or glorification of terror. The Conservatives' political spokesman, Frederik Mønster, said that a local branch of the Red-Green Alliance participated. He believed that it showed a problematic tendency on the far left to ally with terror sympathizers and anti-Semites and urged the Red-Green Alliance to strongly distance itself from the behavior. #demonstration #København #terrorisme (translated)

Martin Ågerup 3w

Martin Ågerup wrote that an analysis commissioned by the City of Copenhagen described how kitchen staff at several nursing homes rejected residents' requests for beef on their birthdays due to the municipality's CO₂ accounts. He used the story of the 95-year-old Niels as an example but emphasized that the person was fictional. According to Ågerup, the municipality's guidelines allowed for a maximum of 80 grams of beef, veal, and lamb per week, including deli meats for lunch. He quoted a resident's statement about a significant longing for decent meat. In April, the Conservative Party, Liberal Alliance, Social Democrats, Venstre, and Danish People’s Party proposed exempting nursing homes from the municipality's food strategy. The Socialist Folk Party, Red–Green Alliance, and the Radical Left rejected the proposal in the Health and Care Committee on August 20, Ågerup wrote. He expected the five parties to be in the minority when the new strategy would be adopted in the City Council at the beginning of 2027. Ågerup argued that politicians should not decide how much meat the elderly should eat, and wrote that nursing home residents should be able to choose their birthday food. He highlighted that, according to him, residents had paid taxes for most of their lives, paid rent for their care homes, and 4,414 kroner per month for food. He concluded with a call for less paternalism and more hamburgers, as well as an invitation to join the Taxpayers Association. https://t.co/5SLqHWljnU #plejehjem #fødselsdag #madpolitik (translated)

Alex Vanopslagh wrote that the government would soon grant 2,055 citizenships without screening the applicants for anti-democratic behavior. He highlighted a woman mentioned in the proposal who, according to him, had repeatedly shared and praised Hamas and deceased Hamas leaders, including Yahya Sinwar. Vanopslagh described Sinwar as the mastermind behind the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. He wrote that the Liberal Alliance wanted to summon the woman for a citizenship interview and referred to an article in Politiken. At the same time, he emphasized that he did not know if the woman was an Islamist or anti-democrat, but believed her posts pointed in that direction. He used the case as an argument for a screening model before more citizenships were distributed. Vanopslagh criticized the Social Democrats for having delayed the decision for more than two years, according to him. He wrote that the Minister for Immigration and Integration, Rasmus Stoklund, had said that the public should alert the authorities about individuals who might not deserve citizenship. Vanopslagh believed that the responsibility lay with the government, not the public or Liberal Alliance staff, and wrote that the government put citizens who deserved citizenship in the same category as individuals like the woman in the article. #statsborgerskab #demokrati #politik (translated)

Danish politician (born 1980)

Morten Messerschmidt wrote that the Social Democrats had destroyed the immigration policy. He claimed that the government had decided to grant citizenship to 2,055 individuals without screening, and that a significant proportion came from the Middle East and Africa. According to Messerschmidt, the Social Democrats had lost the internal power struggle over immigration policy, so the Radical Left, the Socialist People’s Party, and the Moderates now determined the policy in the area of citizenship. He believed that one could not conduct a strict immigration policy while simultaneously accepting a practice that, in his view, could grant citizenship to Islamists without screening. Messerschmidt wrote that the Social Democrats had lost control over immigration policy and that the Danish People's Party and he himself were ready to take over if Mette Frederiksen no longer wanted or could pursue the policy she had promised. He said he would make Denmark the safest country in the world. #udlændingepolitik #Danmark #socialdemokratiet (translated)

Eva Gregersen wrote that the government, according to her information, would reintroduce a bill on Danish citizenship for 2,055 applicants and their 1,039 children without first screening them for anti-democratic views. She believed that the Social Democrats were thus yielding to the value-political left. In a column in Berlingske in February, Gregersen had predicted that at least 600 people with the same ideological standpoint as an applicant, whom Stoklund had allegedly rejected the year before due to their values, would obtain citizenship. She also referred to Wilkes' study for Jyllands-Posten from 2024, which according to her showed that 54 percent of Muslims living in Denmark believed that the dictates of the Koran should be followed fully. Gregersen pointed out that Mette Frederiksen had stated from the podium of the Folketing that it was incompatible with Danish society to take the words of the Koran at face value. Gregersen agreed with that assessment and called it national self-harm to continue granting citizenship to so many people, whom she believed could be expected to follow the dictates of the Koran. #udlændingepolitik #danskpolitik #statsborgerskab (translated)

Mikkel Bjørn wrote that the government and the Social Democrats would reintroduce a bill on citizenship for over 3,000 individuals, even though the party had previously promised not to present it. He stated that over 70 percent of the applicants were from non-Western countries, including MENAPT, and that nearly 40 percent were from MENAPT. According to Bjørn, the largest single group was Syrian refugees, whom he described as temporary. Bjørn pointed out that the Social Democrats had previously referred to the reception of Syrian refugees as temporary, and wrote that Syrians who marched on the motorways in 2015 now constituted the largest group in the bill ten years later. He also claimed that the party had promised to introduce a new model designed to prevent Islamists, anti-democrats, and terror sympathizers from obtaining citizenship, as well as a new system to investigate applicants’ criminal records. According to Bjørn, the bill would be presented without screening, and he questioned whether the plans for criminal investigations had been abandoned. He wrote that Islamists, anti-democrats, criminals, and individuals with limited Danish skills could thus obtain citizenship. He called it a failure and criticized the Social Democrats for entering into government with the Radicals. #danskpolitik #flygtninge #statsborgerskab (translated)

Today, the Parliament showed its ugliest side. Before the election, Pelle Dragsted promised that his first political proposal would be to reinstate Great Prayer Day. An hour ago, when we voted on the Danish People's Party's proposal to reinstate Great Prayer Day now and not in 2030, the Unity List voted against it. Before the election, Pia Olsen Dyhr promised the students that she would not cut their student grants. Now she and the Socialist Party are cutting the student grants to finance the government's budget. Before the election, Mette Frederiksen promised that the punishment should fit the crime. Nevertheless, the Social Democrats voted against it when we voted an hour ago on the Danish People's Party's proposal that murderers like Elias Shegow, who stoned a 13-year-old girl, should not receive a reduced sentence. And do you know what the worst part is? That these arrogant politicians probably don't even feel the slightest shame over their blatant lies and voter deception. Just think... They stand on nationwide TV and promise the Danish people one thing. And when the election is over, they go right down to the Parliament and vote the exact opposite, hoping that the Danes won't notice it. They should be ashamed. #politik #valg #fagforening (translated)

DRAMA I FOLKETINGET: THOMAS SKRIVER FORSVINDER?
