Björn Harms announced that his new book "The Asylum Complex" would be available in stores the following day; he already had some freshly printed copies in hand. He wrote that the book includes, among other things, a detailed overall calculation of the asylum costs of past years and an overview of the number of asylum accommodations in Germany. According to him, the federal government does not know this number. According to Harms, the book also addresses real estate companies and hoteliers who earn millions by renting to the state, as well as home operators, welfare associations, lawyer networks, and state companies that benefit from the growing market or mass immigration. He announced interviews with insiders from the social industry and the real estate market, as well as insights into asylum NGOs, refugee councils, and million-euro funding programs from the EU and the federal government. Additionally, the book aims to address legal questions related to the topic of asylum. Harms requested feedback on the book. #Asylkomplex #Buchneuerscheinung #Asylpolitik (translated)

Nico Lange wrote that for decades the argument has repeatedly been made that the problems lie in the fact that no one talks to Putin. Conversations are confused with the willingness to fulfill Putin's demands. There have been many talks, channels, and contacts, and they continue to exist; however, Putin does not want to make compromises, Lange said. #Putin #Politik #Gespräche (translated)

René Springer wrote that the AfD has reached 40 percent in Brandenburg according to a recent INSA survey – a new record high and almost eleven points more than in the 2024 state election. The SPD and CDU together would get less than 30 percent. Springer stated a goal of 50 percent and a sole government. He explained that the AfD wants to take the country back and make politics in the German interest in the future. #AfD #Brandenburg #Wahlen (translated)

Yvonne Kussmann reported, citing Bavarian Interior Minister Herrmann, that the suspect in the shooting case in Berngau was a hunter and sport shooter. He allegedly shot two employees of the district office at his home during a routine weapon check the day before. According to Kussmann, the 60-year-old German legally owned ten firearms and had not previously come to the attention of the police. There were also no findings about him in police files or with the state protection and constitutional protection agencies. Investigations into the incident, in which a 45-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were killed, are ongoing. #Waffengewalt #Kriminalität #Sicherheit (translated)

The user sparbookfoes wrote that the federal government, consisting of the Union and SPD, is planning another tax increase despite their agreement in the coalition contract against tax hikes: the tobacco tax is set to rise. A pack of Marlboro cigarettes with 20 cigarettes currently costs 9.40 euros; according to him, the price will be around 10.50 euros in 2027 and about 12.10 euros in 2030. The specific additional state revenues are difficult to predict. The German Customs and Finance Union (BDZ) predicts that more and more smokers will turn to the black market, he wrote. #Steuern #Tabaksteuer #Rauchen (translated)

When you look at our quality in the first six matches and the quality on the other side with Wolfsburg, I do believe we can rightly consider this a top match. Klose added: “If after seven matchdays we were eight points ahead, that would be nice, but that doesn't mean we would then be promoted.” #FCN #Wolfsburg #Aufstieg (translated)
